Wealthy entrepreneur Bruce Wayne and his ward Dick Grayson lead a double life: they are actually crime fighting duo Batman and Robin. A secret Batpole in the Wayne mansion leads to the Batcave, where Police Commissioner Gordon often calls with the latest emergency threatening Gotham City. Racing to the scene of the crime in the Batmobile, Batman and Robin must (with the help of their trusty Bat-utility-belt) thwart the efforts of a variety of master criminals, including The Riddler, The Joker, Catwoman, and The Penguin.

Actress Yvonne Craig was featured in a promotional short, which was shown to ABC executives in order to not only add Batgirl to the cast, but ensure a third season for the television series.

The villain in this presentation was Tim Herbert as The Killer Moth, although the villian was never used on the series. This film was never shown on television, however it is featured on numerous video tapes documenting the show.

The “Caped Crusader” and his loyal sidekick thrilled both children and adults when the comic book heroes segued onto the small screen in 1966. Rare photos, clips, and screen tests, as well as interviews with the show’s cast and creators document the extraordinary three-year flight of Batman the TV series.

In the pilot mild-mannered librarian Barbara Gordon was about to lock-up the Gotham library when Killer Moth and three of his henchmen attempted to kidnap a millionaire checking-out a book in the building. The villainous gang locked Barbara in a back room, but before they could make their escape Batman & Robin arrived to foil their plan. Killer Moth managed to get the drop on the Dynamic Duo and covered them in a confining cocoon, leaving no one to stand in his way. What he didn’t realise was there was a new hero in Gotham and before he had chance to escape, Batgirl arrived to save the day.
