That ending scene was pretty brutal :s
HYPEEEEEEEE. The date is finally here :D
That monkey titan was terrifying, holy shit! Gave me the chills when he spoke, such a good way to start the season!
That shit was brutal at the end. What a way to start the season.
Remembering how much I hated the Beast Titan the first time I saw it. The scene at the end still seems brutal and painful to me.
No more sniff guy... You will be missed..
Holy shit, it fucking speaks!!!!
Talking Titans? Intelligent Titans? Creepy hidden Titans in the walls? I already knew this season was going to blow my mind,
I just did not expect it to make my whole body explode.
The CG horses...
No, but in all honesty it was a pretty good ep. Not sure why they recycled animation and the OST from season 1. The intro was kind of lackluster and just... weird at one point but mainly because of the song used. The outro was cool though, I really liked how they showed the Eldian/Marley imagery even if it would have been way more fitting for a fifth season.
IT'S BEEN FOUR YEARS. Holy shit, I can't believe it's back. The second season will only have 12 episodes and I could write a whole rant about this topic alone, but let's just say that I was more excited than I thought it would be!
My thoughts about this episode:
* The opening was by Linked Horizon again (the same one that did the first two openings of season 1) and they did a great job again! The visuals with the animals confused me a bit. Maybe it's supposed to show that Titans are a part of the evolution? I haven't really thought about it yet if Titans "just happened" because it's the next step in the evolution or if someone created them, so maybe that's a hint?
* I really like how it all seems like a perfect continuation of the first season. I was worried after four years the animation style, voice actors etc would change a lot, but it all feels like no time passed. The animations were a bit sloppy sometimes tbh, but it was the same with the first season and it wasn't too bad in my opinion.
* I laughed so hard at the beginning - They just threw a few blankets over the huge Titan head :'D "Nothing suspicious to see here!"
* Yay, more Nanaba! Somehow she looked cuter than in season 1... Not sure what they changed about her.
* That monkey Titan is terrifying. I'm always surprised how this show/manga manages to portray the most ridiculous-looking Titans, and still giving me such goosebumps. Maybe it's because they're looking so freaky.
* AND HOLY SHIT IT SPOKE. It said "You know we reside in the nape", so it seems the big mystery will be which person is the monkey Titan. Let's grab the tinfoil hats, guys!
* Mike's death was gruesome. And I know I should expect people to die, but it still took me by surprise >_<
All in all it was a nice episode. Considering that they'll apparently only adapt two volumes for this season I was prepared for a slow start, but that was not slow at all. Let's hope the other 11 episodes will be amazing and we won't have to wait too long for season 3!
Peak for all the people who had to wait 4 years for this episode. Mad.
I waited so long for this I'm not even impressed
Damn, I hadn't realized how much I needed the new season.
We are waiting, is there any date?
A great start to a perfect season, this episode's ending was really gruesome and painful.

Wait! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? :open_mouth::open_mouth::open_mouth::open_mouth::open_mouth:
I too will be scared shitless if a hairy ape titan spoke to me in that manner
What a start to the season! So much insane shit is happening. And it looks even more gory and brutal than last seaon.
This season is going to be so fucking hype. Still kinda disappointed it's only half as many episodes as the first season tough.
Excellent start to the new season!
After a pretty long wait, it's finally time for S2. A decent first episode back, thankfully it didn't spend too much time recapping events. Good to see we're off to a decently harrowing start!
Is this for real ??? Tell me!
the waiting is killing me!! come on crunchyroll

Anyone else confused about that intro with titans and what seemed to look like dinosaurs?
