I laughed out loud in this a ton. I'd just seen Planes, Trains and Automobiles and didn't laugh as much in that. So that's a good sign.
Some of the chemistry just wasn't there. But I went into this hoping to laugh and I did. Great music too!
It’s like a rollercoaster. Sometimes trash, sometimes pretty good, sometimes lame, sometimes really bad, sometimes superfunny.
I'm surprised this movie isn't more popular...I thought the whole movie was really funny
Especially the canoe kayak scene :D
On the surface? It features both Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo - as a fan of the originals, that's awesome to see. And in one of the main roles, there's Christina Applegate - having practically grown up on Married With Children, I could not say no to this. Even Michael Peña makes an appearance, another actor I really like.
But then the movie actually starts, and... Something's definitely missing. The humour feels rather forced for the most part, and the chemistry isn't there that much either. Not only that, but so many elements that are just way too crude and explicit for a "family movie" - not that it's actually meant to be one of course, but still... I mean, the originals had a few risque moments too, however I don't think the four together had as much explicit material as this one. (And though Debbie Do-Anything is perfect to be considered Kelly's college persona, if she'd ever gone to college, it's just a little too much here.)
Overall it drags on for what feels like too long, because it just lacks the charm and wit. There are a few laughs to be had, but they're too few to make up for the shortcomings.
It has some decent laughs but not as good as Christmas or the original. Ed Helms is funny and there are a few fun cameos, the standout being Chris Hemsworth.
It could be worse… but in fact it's watchable. Interesting reference to the original series.
Omg this movie felt like it lasted for ever
I had no hopes for this....but their was actually a few laugh out loud moments.
I loved the Griswols movies growing up and this movie would certainly not be out of place, some real LOL moments
The theme song was the best bit....
omg funny yes and the lack on chemistry and the story is little bit off but those funny moments really makes u laugh your heart out!!
I loved the old vacations movies so I was eager to see this one. There are some scenes which pay homage to the original movie which was great to see. Nonetheless it's a lot more crude but overall still enjoyable. Love the family car!
A bad movie. The trailer was promising but the movie was dissapointment.
Not a bad movie if you dont connect them to the original...
But those kids though.. They ruined the whole movie for me. Dammit I hate child actors!
Laughed a few times, but that does not make up for the horribleness that is the rest of the movie. The characters do not make sense and the humor is awkward instead of funny.
it has its fun and its moments, a few nice laughs but not the greatness of its predecessor. Applegate would always be a likeable character.
Easy milking of the cashcow of an already existing franchise.
A rather shallow attempt at a continuation of the "famous" Griswold movies but nowhere near their greatness (as usual).
Still somewhat enjoyable and not as bad as I thought it would be.
Although it would have helped to put the money for the appearance of Hemsworth in a minor role into a better cast for Rusty Griswold, instead of using him to attract a certain fanbase based on a few minutes screentime.
A few small funny moments here and there can't make up for unlikable characters, unoriginality, and an uneven last act.

A cool film, with a simple story that has some very funny moments, although others weren't that funny.
