For the amount of Grade A and High B actors in the movie, along with the top o' the line writing cast, producers and director, you would think this would be nothing less than a 5-Star film. Unfortunately, the movie just never gathers any traction and seems to be nothing more than a collection of cameos without any cohesiveness, even with the story running in the background. Not a terrible flick, just a disappointing one.
This is probably my favourite, all-time movie. Really enjoyed it!
Love this movie!! Classic
Great great great! One of the best scripts from Tarantino and nice directing too..Reccomend this for sure 7.9/10
This entire script is just Tarantino working through his issues with masculinity, women, and sexuality in a very public and uncomfortable way. But without the excellent direction and cinematography that usually defines his films since it was directed by a competent but boring director.
I saw this film in the theaters when it came out and enjoyed it. It is always interesting to go back and see these kinds of movies again now that my appreciation for good movies has grown (and now that Slater isn't a huge star). The movie is written by Tarantino and his markings are everywhere, especially in the dialog. The scene between Hopper and Walken is a classic and unfortunately it might be the high point of the film. Still, I enjoyed it even if it was a little anti-climactic.
Wow What A Great Film
Christian Slater is Definitely Underrated he needs to be up their with the Brad Pitt's and Leonardo DiCaprio's
I absolutely love the PLOT and Characters.. Great Writing Great Ending and I loved the Pace.. Only thing that stopped this film from being a 10 was them saying it was an action film not by a long stretch. I gave it a 9/10
So many great guest performances. Brad Pitt, Samuel L. Jackson (although not for very long, and Gary Oldman all did a great job. However, the Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken scene was particularly great and when the movie really started to pick up. In typical Tarantino fashion this movie has many interlacing stories and comes to a head at the very end. With all the violence this film also finds time for comedy, making it a very well balanced and enjoyable film.
Great movie, great cast and a whole lot of action. Love story mixed in with drugs, murder and fun! Great watch!
The huge cast and bat shit crazy script make this worth watching but sometimes it was a little too off the rails.
This is Tarantinos best work!
I've been seeing some mixed feelings on this, so let me attempt to clear the fog. I don't think on premise and having great actors alone, this movie floats. Big picture, it's not very original sort of reminds of Scarface but on a smaller scale. I've seen great casts get ruined like with The Outsiders, this, I don't think is the case. The writing is great but there's no shock there as Quentin Tarantino was behind it. The characters feel alive and distinct from each other. The storytelling is simple but smooth like a fluffy pillow. The soundtrack is something I have to point out is lacking. I think it simply doesn't fit the events of the film. The camera work and scenes are super self-aware and adds to the level of detail. The progression and buildup to the ending is brilliant tricky to see coming based on the first act. It might not be a strong 10/10 but it nonetheless is for me.
Wow - what a ride, in true Tarantino style! Loved all the cameos, and Brad Pitt's character was hilarious!
My fetish movie. Simply the best.
Yet another movie where you don't recognize Gary Oldman until it's too late.
It's not directed by Tarantino, but with that style of writing and that much bloody violence, it may as well be. It's an interesting plot, and it was well executed (as were many of the characters, am I right?). If you're a fan of Tarantino-type movies, then you'll definitely enjoy this one.
I personally find them hard to watch, but I can't deny that this was a well-made movie.
Thoroughly entertaining and darkly humorous film, with a very well written script.
Iconic. Cool Tarantino script, great directing and what a cast!: Dennis Hopper, Gary Oldman, Christopher Walken, Samuel L. Jackson, James Gandolfini, Chris Penn, Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Brad Pitt, Val Kilmer...
Démarre tranquillement mais surement, puis explose à partir du duel Dennis Hopper/Christopher Walken ! A voir absolument !
This really is a great movie. I always think that Christian Slater doesn't get much credit, but this is one of those movies that I remember him from.

Don’t believe the hype. This is a good movie but not a great movie.
