u can watch it a thousand times and not feel its old news
A enjoyable action flick about a BIG robbery. Fast paced and pepped up with some intrigues within the gangster organization. Prepare for some plot twists...
I think I have said it before, but I tend to enjoy these heist movies way too much. The Italian Job is by no means stellar film making, but it's got decent acting, some really good and exciting heists, and of course...Charlize Theron. I don't need much more to feel entertained, and I highly doubt anyone else that likes heist movies need more either.
This film although has the penitential to be a great heist film feel short of something special. While The Italian Job has an excellent cast and the heist themselves were entertaining to watch unfold, the plot seemed mild to me with the element of a revenge flick mixed in which it doesn't pull off well. Besides the plot overall The Italian Job was very thrilling to watch even for just seeing the cast and the heists themselves and still better than most other films in its genre.
Not the biggest action/heist fan. Not the biggest Marky Mark fan. It was average. I could see why people may love this film, but for me it is not something I will turn on again anytime soon. If it is on, I don't think I would turn it off, I just wouldn't go out of my way to watch it.
Rating: 3/5 - 75% - Worth Watching
The Italian Job is a good movie with plenty of action and thrilling heist scenes. The talented cast, including Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron, give great performances that add depth to their characters and make the film even more enjoyable to watch. If you're a fan of heist movies, this is a good pick.
Still like the original one
A relatively tight thriller about a gold robbery a double-cross and revenge. The was some decent action and a few little plot twists that made up for the rather dull cast. The actual heists were well done but the car chases were not nearly as prominent as I thought they would be. One gripe is that the computer hacker played by Seth Green pretty much hacks his way into any and everything necessary to make the plot move along and to make the incredible possible. Hackers who can break into anything and control everything in movies is getting very tiring. This hacker manages to control all Los Angeles traffic lights and subways from his laptop. Sure...
The Italian Job is a fun movie, but it had the potential to be great. Norton is a weak antagonist, and the stakes are never high. It's a serious film without tension but almost feels more like a comedic film without jokes.
Yeah, sure, whatever. Usual Hollywood fare with sharp stunts, well-known actors, something resembling a plot.
Passed 2 hours of my time. I didn't hate it, can't complain about it either.
6.5/10
Lets get out of here!
The movie that Ed Norton worked tirelessly to get out of doing...and it's very obvious how much he hated doing it.

"If there's one thing I know, it's never to mess with mother nature, mother in-laws and, mother freaking Ukrainians."
Somehow I never had seen this one. I had seen bits and pieces, like the scenes with the mini's but other than that? No. So when I came across it on Netflix I thought well today will be the day that I will watch the Italian Job remake and it was alright. Nothing special at all. Always enjoy heists films so having 2 heists in this one was fun.
But something felt off, like very generic. Didn't like the nicknames, thought the Ukrainians would have a bigger role, wanted more of Skinny Pete, they underused Donald Sutherland and Charlize Theron, the ending was kind of boring? And damn Edward Norton was not even trying right?
Still I liked the car chases and the Venice heist but I expected more. The 2003 Italian Job won't be one that I will rewatch any time in the near future.
Watch an American Guy, American Girl, British Guy, Black Guy and Tech Guy take on STEVE, THE BABY-VOICE VILLAIN.
Watching this as a kid left some kind of impact on me. I just don't quite know what it is yet. Maybe a fascination with Mini Coopers??? Also how did this movie get a ride at Wonderland??
Pretty much your typical heist movie. Do try and compare to the original.
