Live Free or Die Hard 2007

One of my first movies and still one of my favorites!

Fell asleep before the final act. Movies about hacking are so boring. 1 might be good but they're all the same and most make no sense. That's not how hacking works...

Cinema Paco: Image 4.5/5 Sound 4.5/5. It starts well and goes well but in the end is too much, as the elevator scene and the plane scene

This movie was great! The best I've seen this year alone. Tons of action, and it was also humorous through out the movie. It might not have that same feeling as the old movies because of it's PG-13 rating, but it was still great to watch.

This movie is totally silly. The technology is ridiculous and the stunts are way over the top…but I enjoyed it anyway. Bruce Willis plays the low-tech bruising John McClane with as much energy and humor as he ever has. Justin Long also stars as Matt Farrell. Long is the Macintosh geek from the Mac vs. PC commercials. This adds a little credibility in his ability to hack and crack his way into secured systems so easily. Long is an entertaining sidekick to Willis throughout the movie. Most of the action sequences are incredible both in their staging and in execution. I was laughing out loud and yelling things like "no way in Hell" while watching but I can most certainly say I had a great time at this movie.

All that fake hacker stuff was annoying

Well, definitely worse than first three. The transition into the internet age of the franchise is not well done. In 2007 internet was actually not that global and for many people was like magic, but from today point of view the movie is totally unbelievable. But that wasn't the greatest problem of the film. The problem was John McClane. It was established so far that McClane is a bad ass motherfucker, but always he was a kind of a underdog. And In DH4 he is like a superhero. He shoots down a chopper with a car and then takes down an f35 with a truck for example. Regardless, I enjoyed the movie, the action, the clever McClane one liners. I loved the acting of the crew, especially Timothy Olyphant who is as good as previous villains.

To be honest with you, I haven't watched this one since the theatrical release. It didn't really make an impact then, and...well...can't say I want to rewatch it again anytime soon.

I'm sorry Wiseman, but this isn't good enough.

Don't get me wrong, there are some good things about this movie. If you like over-the-top action, this will be right up your alley. It might even be too much at times. But hey....it's a Die Hard movie so...

Anyway...the acting is good, the action is good, and it sounds and looks good. The story, on the other hand, is a mess. It has severe pacing problems and the hacking plot didn't hold up back then, and certainly doesn't now.

Sequels are a hard one to pull off, and when you got three, rather successful, movies coming before your entry, well...you get stuff like this.

It's not that Live Free or Die Hard is so incredibly bad...it's just that very much worse than its rather excellent predecessors.

Bonus points for having Maggie Q kicking our aging heroes' ass, and being damn sexy doing it.

What was this, the 8th or 9th installment of this series? I give them credit as they seemed to have slowly brought the franchise back to since the dismal second and third movies. Who saw that coming? Then again, that isn't any more surprising than the fact that Bruce Willis became an action star in the first place. I adored 'Moonlighting', but geez.... I would have sooner thought that Booger would be a big-time Hollywood hunk than Willis. Anyway, the movie was about what you would expect - lots of chases, cliches and shooting. I thought it was well done compared to some of the train wrecks that have been in the theaters in the last few years. It wasn't in the same category as the original but it was a worthwhile couple of hours. Is it just me or does a bald Bruce Willis look like a young Yoda?

I expected the worst. It stays true to the originals and was a lot of fun. The hacking terrorism idea was pulled off better than average.

Die Hard movies never disappoint me ...
I go in expecting sheer fun action with a pinch of humour and a badass cop giving the bad guys the hard time they deserve and that’s exactly what Live Free or Die Hard delivers once again!

Much better than I thought it would be, although some of the action scenes (i.e. the destruction of the helicopter with a police car or the scenes with the F-35) are "over the top". Otherwise quiet enjoyable!

Perfect summer holiday action movie.

Rewatched this Film last Night..

They Actually Executed The Plot Good.. The Writing was off and of course no points for dialogue I didn't expect it in a film with Action but it was a Good Enjoyable film I gave it a 7/10

Not the best of the bunch but A Good Day to Die Hard showed Live Free or Die Hard could have been much worse.

It's an OK action flick that has a character named John McClane in it. But it's not "Die Hard" in my book.

Too much CGI stunts, which were a thing back then. But they don't age well and were already over the top in 2007. Don't like the plot much. hacking just isn't exciting. Writing was more intelligent in the first three. Farrell is a very unlikeable character and more then once I wished he would be shot. Gabriel is a weak villain - all bark but no bite. Can't do anything by himself. But that's your modern day action movie villain right there.

Like I said before, part three was the last real "Die Hard" movie. The rest were just milking the cow.

Just another good action movie with Bruce Willis

Rewatched this tonight. Absurd and yet undeniably entertaining. It was fun seeing all these actors 15+ yrs younger. The over the top stunt style action flick is much more my style versus the 5000 flashing guns for 2 hrs w very little actual fighting. This one goes so far off the deep end you can't help but laugh and shake your head, but it's also done so tongue in cheek. 7.4 for a great amount of fun

No one would act in real life like the people in the movie

The most explosive and action-packed film of the series, Live Free or Die Hard is a nonstop high-adrenaline adventure. This time John McClane gets caught-up in a cyber-terrorist attack against America’s infrastructure, and things get personal when the terrorists kidnap his daughter. The storytelling is pretty good and is quite timely in its dealing with modern terrorism. Additionally, the villains (played exceptionally well by Timothy Olyphant and Maggie Q) are compelling and dynamic. And while there are some weak special effects and script issues, the high-energy chase scenes and intense fight sequences keep the film exciting and engaging. Live Free or Die Hard is a riveting, thrill-a-minute action film that’s incredible entertaining...Yippee-Ki-Yay, Motherf*****!

Over-the-top fun with near-superhuman action sequences.

This is a silly movie, but has great action and a sense of humour as well. Willis and Long have good chemistry and Timothy Olyphant is a superb villain.

I have to say the fourth installment of the Die Hard franchise seems to be a much better movie than the first three...
And Bruce Willis is very sexy with a shaved head....
Good to see Tuvok from Star Trek Voyager in the movie

John McClane is still not vanquished by the 21st century's technology and some crafty hackers, he survives every attack of theirs to save the world.
As for the directing they must thought "we got a buttload of cash to spend so we're going to blow evertyhing because it is a showpiece."
Okay, I admit I liked the John-Mai fight very much.
