Good movie. A bit slow at the beginning, but definitely worth a watch.

Jeez... Tom Hardy is something else. LOVE this movie.
I'd like to know how Jessica Chastain's character was able to pull and toss around all that dead body weight of Tom Hardy's character. I know, I know.. 'Matthew, it's just a movie'. However this movie might as well be a bio-flick. Just sayin. Been a while since I've watched this movie, but know the scenes all to well. All around a great movie.. gave it a 90 out of 100. Because of my question, and a couple of just irritating character spots by Mr Transformer himself, would've given it a 92 if it was possible.

Stellar performances all around. The fact that it is based on a true story makes it even better, but what I am interested in is the bit of trivia I saw: Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf got into a physical altercation on set.
Lawless is a period drama that’s well-crafted but lacks strong storytelling. Inspired by a true story, the film follows a notorious family of bootleggers that get strong-armed by a corrupt state deputy looking to control the industry. The casting is very good, and includes Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, and Mia Wasikowska. However, the characters aren’t developed that well and the storytelling is rather awkward; making it difficult to build momentum. Yet despite some clunkiness, Lawless in an interesting and somewhat compelling crime film.
I really hate Shia Labeouf. He completely destroyed this movie. Terrible. Really weak.
La había visto hace tiempo pero apenas la recordaba. Entretenida, sin más. Con un buen reparto y una historia que resulta más interesante porque está basada en hechos reales.

I found this movie superb..Great perfomances,nice costumes and great atmosphere.I don't agree in violence part with most of people..If you don't want to face violence in a movie just avoid this one and go watch some drama :) 8.5/10
I really enjoyed this movie. There is not a lot of excitement going on in the movie, but I did not find it boring at all. The tention kept me interested throughout. The movie at some point are quite graphic, especially the throat cutting was quite realistic. I think the realism was what I enjoyed the most, nothing was over the top.
So much anticipation and so much disappointment, "Lawless" is a movie with a very good cast but a very dissapointing execution in terms of script. The acting is acceptable at times, and while Guy Pearce did a great job as the villain, "Lawless" didn't bring any excitement to a genre that needs the big excitement in order to work. The film felt boring at times and really didn't make you feel interested in some parts of the movie. Shia's acting was average as usual and so is this movie overall, as a big gangster movies fan I found "Lawless" acceptable but not at the level it should had been.
I wasn't expecting much from this movie, but it was actually quite good. The actors are great and they do a good job telling the story.

Just awesome! I loved everything about this movie starting with Tom Hardy's exceptional performance, which is something you can always count on, down to the perfect soundtrack I immediately downloaded.
