Blue Steel 1990

"Why.. why do you want to become a cop?"

This came out one year before Point Break and I am upset I hadn't seen it until now. Jamie Lee Curtis and Clancy Brown are awesome in it and the pscyho killer truly has that crazy look to him. Heavier than I expected it to be, but still enjoyable. Kathryn Bigelow has a keen eye for raw and gritty scenes.

Has a feeling of "imagine Halloween as a cop movie". Very silly but saved by decent cast.

Yet another under-rated gem by Kathryn Bigelow. Blue Steel may not be as solid Near Dark and Point Break. But it is a well acted thriller with not much like it.
The late Ron Silver is perfect as a mad man who goes on a killing spree after stealing a gun from a robbery. Not only that but he stalks Curtis, a rookie cop. Affer getting her in trouble for no gun being at the scene. After she killed a robber.

Police falls in love with psychopath. The ending is obvious.

Jamie Lee Curtis is a fantastic actress. But, even she can not save a film when the script is just plain bad. The story makes very little sense and just when you think it's over, it keeps on going. While the director went on to win an oscar, this was clearly one of her very first films and she also wrote it, it's just not good.
