"God put you in my path and I aim to cure you of your wicked ways."
I have always been curious about this movie. Always seemed weird: Girl gets chained up as an older black gentleman tries to help her. After watching it, it oddly does have a good feel to it. I will say this: Samuel L. Jackson's acting was on point. It might be in the top 5 Samuel L. Jackson moments.
It's a pulpy exploitation throwback, that at the same time gets pretty dark and serious with its themes of redemption. It gets a little too preachy at times with its morality "lessons", but ends up being a rather strong, emotional fable. Some great music too.
Beautiful movie about mental illness and the rebuilding of trust and security. May need prior personal experiences to be appreciated.
Weird bad story, but great blues music.
what a piece of crap

What a nice surprise. Much better than it sounds, and even has some great music.
