While I can understand how some would find this movie boring, it's more that it's slow paced, with a very convoluted plot, reminiscent, at least to me, of some of the best plots of the 'film noir' of the 1940's and later (The Big Sleep came to mind, as well as the remake of The Long goodbye by Altman) . The acting and photography are great, the dialogs witty, and i actually laughed more than once, even at a murder scene... Far from the frantic pace of thrillers today, it's a movie that requires you to actually delve into it and let yourself be entertained by the antics of that improbable stoner P.I. Give it a chance, you might really like it
