Space Cowboys is an enjoyable film to watch, mainly due to it's star studded leading cast (though I will be point out that Marcia Gay Harden is terrible in her role - as well as being poorly written). But despite the cast and interesting concept (though you have to suspend your disbelief), nothing really ever takes off (pun intended).
The script goes through the motions, the direction is lfieless (and we know Eastwood knows his way around a camera) and while the cast is full of charisma, they never really connect. No one gets out of second gear. Space Cowboys is just by the numbers. Enjoyable enough if it's on that you may want to watch it, but you'll want to flick around first.
