Suits

Season 9

A bit mixed on the final season, but overall I think they landed things pretty well. A huge buff and improvement from last season by bringing Mike back as a side character about halfway through. Honestly didn't appreciate how vital to the show he was until he was gone then came back here. I weirdly think that the comedy this season was perhaps at its worst for the series -- so much Louis comedy that was just really weird. But for the most part, character arcs were landed pretty well for Harvey and Louis. In the first season, it was all about Mike showing Harvey that he does care about people and his clients, and here we see Harvey has fully embraced that. For Louis, he has grown so much across the series into this healthy, confident, secure man who doesn't necessarily need Harvey's approval anymore. He ends the show on top as managing partner, achieving his long-term goal, and is in a good position to do well in this role. Quite like the bittersweet ending again with Harvey and Donna leaving. It feels like the end of an era and a good spot for the show to land, while still feeling pretty sweet and optimistic for all characters. I also like that they were able to stretch out the final conflict/arc of the series over a few episodes rather than resolving it right away. Overall, it's not a perfect season but all-in-all I was pretty satisfied with how the series ended.

6.83 -- Good
