American Honey is a coming of age story that takes a hard look at young people and their chase and struggle for the American dream. At times very sad, raw, thought-provoking. I like that the community feels free but there's always an undertone that says otherwise, they're all prisoners really, or are they?
Sasha Lane is excellent as our main character and by the end she felt very fleshed out as a character. Some interesting characters feel unexplored and that's a shame though. Whenever Riley Keough is on-screen she steals the spotlight, I wanted more of her. Shia LaBeouf can act in this one he surprised me.
There's one hell of a good playlist to be done with all the songs throughout. The romance parts are probably the least appealing to me but it creates some interesting interactions. I would trim this 20-30 minutes, it was a bit long. Overall, it was good road trip!
