If there is some internal logic as to why Morgan and Co. keep going back to that same deathtrap of a boathouse, I missed it and don't care at this point, but it really makes it hard to watch when the characters keep making dumb and illogical decisions time and again. But then again, almost none of the shit on this show seems to make sense anymore.

It's not just that a lot of the characters' actions make no sense; the dialogue is dreadful too.

In the boathouse, we're presented with this head-scratching exchange:

Mo: "I was trying to run away from you."
Morgan: "Then why didn't you? Why didn't you go?"
Mo: "Because I didn't want to watch you die like I had to watch her."

Umm, if Mo had left, she wouldn't have watched Morgan die because she would have been gone. Now that she stayed, Mo would have had to watch Morgan die if she failed to save him.

The first half of this season was obviously all about Morgan and Madison, but the whole thing really suffered from the absence of the other characters because they brought some charm to the show. Dwight and Sherry are good on screen, but June has been a shell of her former self for quite some time, and on screen, she has seemed flat. The same with Daniel. He used to be a real bad ass, but he has seemed neutered this entire season, and his presence has been completely perfunctory.

I hate to say it, but Kim Dickens and Lennie James just seemed checked out this season. In the latter part of the show when it went from being better to its predecessor to much worse, Colman Domingo was one of the bright spots, so too were the actors who played Sarah and Wendell. Unfortunately, the latter two weren't given much to do in season 7 and nothing so far in season 8, which is a shame. So, hopefully we'll pick up where we left off with some of these other people because this first part has felt stale as year-old toast.
