I'm not saying this season is bad so far but it is occasionally slowed down by unnecessary flashbacks. the el and hopper flashbacks justify themselves a little bit more in this ep but I still think they're a little redundant. the most eye roll flashback was at the end with Bob and Will. Did the screenwriters/editors really think we wouldn't remember an incredibly obvious allusion seeded earlier in the episode?
I'm also a bit peeved by all the tedious jealousy/romantic subplots. literally, all 3 of our plot povs have one and it's weighing down the story with cliche unnecessary drag.
