The show hasn't been the same since PWB left the project. Wondering now if that was over difference of opinion on how long you can string this all out. A good writer/creator knows when a story is finished being told - fleabag had the balance just right on that.

It's good to see characters grow and change like I suppose Eve thinks she has but everything feels watered down now. Feels like we've been meandering and the core of the show - the fire between Eve and Villanelle isn't even there anymore.

Make us care again!

Spot on analysis and exactly how I’ve felt since season 2. KE was never the type of show/plot that could carry a series on for years and years ala procedural TV shows. PWB seemed to respect the art of having a beginning, middle and end in season 1, which could have stood alone without a sequel if that had been the idea.

But when she stepped down and they decided to let it be a revolving door of women directors and writers to let everyone have a seat at the table, the show’s quality and characterization suffered. Like you said, we now are left with a shell of what PWB was trying to tell in season 1. They’ve left the books behind and turned V into a cartoon character. Eve’s motivations make no sense when compared to her reactions in season 3.

In short, it’s all over the place and fizzling out rather than staying strong until the end. It appeared that the network and team wanted to make KE into a brand with V as the quirky villain selling point rather than telling V&E’s story with respect.
