On the whole, I found the entire show very good, but I think the show suffered as a result of breaking it into two parts. People were expecting one thing and are rightfully taken aback when the story gets turned on its head.

Part 1 is definitely the weaker of the two, with the introduction of a few new characters and trying to establish where old familiars are now in the scheme of things. But Part 2 takes it up a big notch. It's more adult and the themes are much more sophisticated. I found myself bingeing and really enjoying Part 2 now that I understood the issues the creative team were trying to explore.

AKA: This isn't the same show you knew as a kid. It's the same characters, same style, and same universe, but instead of episodic driven childish storylines, the creative team explores more adult themes, a broader story, and a more realistic (if we can say that about a cartoon universe) depiction of the characters actions.
