The transporter room must have been on coffee break. They took way too long to simply lock on to Sulu and transport him. I guess "emergency" doesn't mean the same thing to them. Also, why didn't they immediately re-lockon to O'Neill and beam him up? WTF?

So why didn't they actually just unplug the computer? Once the phasers were disabled, walk through the opening and pull the frickin plug. It really is that easy. Don't argue with the computer. Just disable the power source. We have been stuck with this same insipid B.S. for 50 years. Computers take power. The easiest way to disable them is to remove the power. Don't argue it into a logic loop. Don't try shutdown commands. Just walk over to the wall and remove the power. Just so damn stupid.

That being said, it is a very good episode with lots if ideas that will be reused and expanded upon for decades of mindless entertainment.
