Solid introduction into the series. I liked seeing Alyssa's backstory of someone who hates people that try to fit into society, with her mom being an epitome of that of trying to have what society views as the perfect life, and ignoring how her bf Tony treats Alyssa to uphold that. This rejection of fitting into society driving Alyssa's actions was pretty fun to watch, also her developing a currently one-sided trust with James is something I hope will become more developed into a genuine relationship between the two. I'm looking forward to James and Alyssa's relationship down the line as they travel aimlessly out of town, leaving behind there mundane town. The similarities between James and Alyssa were nice too, with both of them going against society's norms, and having shitty parents. The score and close-up shots in this episode was nice too, emphasizing the psychopathic nature of James, and hinting at his troubling relationship with his mother whose no longer around. Even though James plans to kill Alyssa, I liked the dynamics between the two, and the fact that James didnt kill her immediately makes it seem like he's enjoying hanging out with her. The comedic aspects were a decent aspect too, though a bit too British for me. The dim lighting and overall atmosphere really made me feel like I was watching a show set in an English town.
