It's a letdown to see the show side with the insecure, untrusting, and childish antics from Leonard on that one. You'd expect the show would be nicer to Penny, showing she's independent and sure of her actions, and not simply cave into the idiotic demands from Leonard, who clearly does not trust his own ability to be a good partner and instead lashes out at her, degrading her intelligence and independence.
