Invincible 2021

Maybe my expectations were set poorly because of all the rave reviews but I thought the pacing was terribly slow. I also have no experience with the original source material. I'm still trying to figure out if this is sort of a comedy given the 90s GI Joe animation style (I like it) and the weird random overdramatic subplot with the security guard and his son that seems to have started as an important thing and then just disappeared by episode 3?

At least with The Boys, they keep feeding you bits of interesting stuff throughout the episode and pacing you through so that you're constantly being excited. This just seems like a bunch of blah nothing until the last 5-10 mins where they just try to fit in a bunch of interesting stuff at the last second.

I finished the first 3 episodes being very 'meh' and while there was some intrigue, it's as if it takes a backseat to mundane coming of age stuff with the main character. Still not sure if this show is for adults or if it's a kids show with a lot of violence added. I could go either way on whether I continue watching on the next batch.
