I tend not to rate or even write reviews of episodes of shows like Breaking Bad because I can rarely stop at just one, even if I have a very limited "binge" range of about 3-4 episodes at once, maximum, and because the show is so good that I don't feel the need to qualify episodes on their own merit. This is rather unfair I admit, but it's also a mark of a show with fine writing that stands on its own without any high concept or alien and exotic elements, which I usually need to keep my interest because I find the basic nature of most entertainment to be pointless as an escape due to their banality. Breaking Bad isn't as enthralling a premise, or nearly as sexy or nice to look at as something like Dexter, but the writing is better, and a lot more socially aware.

This episode though... This was the first of this show that I was ever bored, and the first time I felt the show was wasting my time with filler as absolutely nothing compelling happens by the halfway mark, which is where I actually stopped. Yes, I see what the writers are setting up, and there was some distractingly amateurish camerawork to try to emphasize drama around an insect in an out-of-place and out-of-touch, dorky sense of zaniness. This episode really does feel like it's just here to fill a quota. Maybe I'll finish it at some point, but I've got episodes of Better Call Saul to watch.
