@abstractlegend New viewer here. I thought the pilot was above average, but not like amazing or anything. It's enough to convince me to keep watching but I don't think it was perfect or mind blowing or anything.
On the other hand, The Last of Us pilot which I also just watched is an example of one I definitely would say that about. Other examples that come to my mind are LOST and Battlestar Galactica (miniseries technically, but still)
