Non-Stop 2014

Absolutely ridiculous plot, but a lot of fun, primarily because Neeson is so watchable. The first half is genuinely suspenseful despite the rather clumsy setup with the filmmakers keen to implicate as many suspects as possible before the threats become real. Red herrings abound, but initially clever plot twists that set up the hero gradually stretch credibility beyond breaking point even within the confines of a film that is designed to simply entertain. It is a shame the latter half of the film becomes increasingly ludicrous, losing any tension built as a result, but Neeson manages to keep it watchable.
