Inception 2010

The Good:

  • A fresh and unique take on both action movies and heist movies.
  • Christopher Nolan handles dreams and dream worlds in a refreshing manner, creating an exciting and layered world of his own vision.
  • Inception has so many layers, dimensions and details that it requires multiple viewings to fully grasp.
  • Hans Zimmer’s score adds another layer of mysticism into the mix.
  • A versatile cast moves the action forward – standouts are DiCaprio with a broken mind, cocky Hardy and the emotional supporter Page.
  • The intelligent script adds enough hints for the audience to figure things out on their own.
  • Includes some of the most original and spectacular action sequences seen in movies.
  • The plot moves forward at a brisk pace but gives us time to breathe in between suspenseful moments.
  • Focus on DiCaprio’s Cobb and his personal troubles, making Inception much more than just your average blockbuster.
  • The cinematography and editing, the visual effects and the production design are impeccable.

The Bad:

  • The movie can be confusing to follow for the inattentive viewer.
  • Most of the characters, while complex and versatile, are never explored more thoroughly.

Verdict:
Inception is Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece and an action movie worth several re-watches.
