It feels like the entire world (i.e. the showrunners) is conspiring against Daenerys. This show was praised for its subversive nature, and yet there's nothing more cliché than a story about a silly emotional girl with good intentions but constantly in need of men's advice and too much power at her hands than a woman deserves finally snapping and needing a well-tempered and by the way much more legitimate man to put her in her place. I mean, how can you build up a fierce and independent female character who is deeply good (who else would be so inherently disgusted by slavery? Sure, her methods are occasionally quite extreme, but every person on this show, even the ones who are ostensibly good, have killed dozens of people, and she has always listened to her advisors and tried to see other people's points of view even if they were deeply awful people) and then tear her down like this? Why is she suddenly becoming unhinged? Why is everyone turning against her for no good reason? Varys said having a cock is important to the Lords of Westeros, but it's also important in this show, apparently. Even Jon blabs to his sisters who, a minute before, told him they don't trust her. At that point, Missandei and Grey Worm are the only people who are actually on her side (funnily enough they are also the only people who really know her goodness - go figure), and with Missandei's final advice to her Queen being, essentially, "burn them all," I'm honestly with her on that one. At some point, you have to cut the head off the snake (or rather, lion), and if Daenerys was a man he'd be praised for his strength and decisive nature. But she's a woman, so she'll end up the crazy evil bitch and Jon "I hung a boy with PTSD and never even gave him a choice like Daenerys gave the Tarlys" Snow will have the male moral high ground.
