This Episode gives me (a tiny bit of) hope.

The ilogical stuff from previous Episodes (like Section 31's existence and operations being common knowlege before Kirks Time, but their very existence being concealed even from seasoned later Captains like Sisko...) still isn#t explained - but at least this Episode didn't double down on it.

One could argue that it says a lot about a Season if the most significant thing one can say about an Episode is: "They didn't make it worse"...

But that is the Age Star Trek as well as Star Wars fans seem to live in today.
I guess Trekkies and Star Wars Fans finally have common ground. Both are in mourn...

On that I could agree. After the last Star Wars I'd rather watch the older ones couple times, including the prequels. And I am about 3 episodes away to say the same about Star Trek
The way I see it both franchises actual installments are but a reflection of the state of movie/television today. Presenting people with what the majority likes to see and than slapping the franchise tags on.

I guess franchises either die a hero, or they live long (and prosper) enough to see themselves become the villain.

@abstractals A franchise can't become the villain.

That privilege is reserved for the ppl owning the IP.
Or the politicians who vote for Stuff like Article 11/13 (EU)... (Had to get that in here :) )

I just hope the MCU survives the transfer to Disney. Captain Marvel doesn't give me much hope in that regard...
