"I'm gonna see my Lucille!"

Apart from the ending, Michonne (and Negan) were the best parts of this episode. The opening of the episode is extraordinary storytelling, and later on, we get dialogue scenes between Negan and Michonne.
"We're the same."
Negan's bat is much like Michonne's sword. They get strength from the dead. In these scenes, Negan was expertly directed, always in shadow. It's very effective.

Additionally, this episode focused on Maggie's (and Daryl's) build up to the attempt to kill Negan. This lead to a great moments between Rick and Daryl, with a scene in particular that really made me doubt their trust with one another. When has Rick and Daryl never trusted each other before?!

This is also Gabriel's best storyline since his introduction in season 5, yet I would still say it was the weakest part of the episode, but that's only because the characterisation for him and Jadis has been sloppy in the past.

This is the best episode of the season so far. There was something more gritty and realistic about this one.

The end.

The main shock of the episode is Rick's final moments (or ar they still to come?) though. I definitely saw a parallel with the very first episode of the show...but this time, it is Rick to be eaten (or is it?) and not the horse. I think this just sums Rick's state of mind at the moment. Throughout this episode, in particular, Rick seems mentally damaged about Carl...and I know that ending seems to be the horse's fault, but I truly believe if Rick was fully focused, it wouldn't have happened.

"Be Safe." (Daryl's final words to Rick)
