@konvar The only guess I have is that he did survive and rebuilt that chamber for when he does actually die in the future. It's another time jump. That him shooting Delores was his defining moment he can't break past to become more than a human algorithm. Which is what his ressurected body and mind can't get past.

@scottkuhl or all 2 seasons were his adventure all along, and in 3rd season we will watch alternative version of first two seasons.
"Will he kill Dolores this time? Will he let hosts escape?? WHO KNOWS? SEE YOU IN THE NEXT SEASON."

@konvar My guess is since the after credits scene happens in a future far far away, with the original William dead decades before, it must mean that the hosts are still alive and kicking, probably won the war against humans or some kind of equilibrium was achieved between humans and hosts
