After somewhat slow start of this final season (amplified by the fact that first two episodes ran back-to-back), Halt and Catch Fire is back with full throttle.

This episode has a lot of heart. All 4 principals, Cameron, Donna, Gordon, and Joe are all decent people.

  • Cameron points out the importance of family to Gordon
  • Donna admits her faults and displays genuine happiness for the pregnant couple who are obviously touched (and Joanie)
  • Gordon for being an awesome dad
  • Joe for holding back his demons by respecting and encouraging people around him

Equipped with immense talents, they are all haunted by desires to build something, ultimately proving themselves from their demons.

We all know where the show is heading. These four well-meaning people are awesome individually, but they clash with spectacular results when they cross each other's path. This time around, there is a lot more is at stake.

For Donna and Gordon, their daughters. And let's not forget that Gordon is not well, so I am sure his health will soon be an issue.

For Cameron and Joe, their inner demons, slowly boiling but never far from the point of eruption.

This episode sets things up in perfect motion with fantastic performances all around. Many memorable lines. Special kudos to Susanna Skaggs and Kathryn Newton for their awesome portrayal of Haley and Joanie.
