Aired by the Us network CBS in the 2007, The big bang theory is a show that has  four young scientists and their neighbor as characters. Even though they are different types of scientists – an experimental physicist, a theoretical physicist, an aerospace engineer and an astrophysicist – they have in common their work place, the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, and their passion for games and science fictions. Their “nerd” world collides with their neighbor Penny‘s (Kaley Cuoco) superficial one; she is a girl that dreams of becoming an actress and that tries, with poor results, to help the guys to improve their social life. While for Sheldon (Jim Parsons) social relationships and conventions are an useless thing to put in practice, Leonard (Johnny Galecki) tries to improve himself to ingraziate Penny and to conquer her. The character of Rajesh (Kunal Nayyar), a hindi that fails in communicating with women, is interesting, while the character of Howard (Simon Helberg), with his obsessions about the fair sex, is not impressive. The show is very nice, despite it takes on an extreme level the typical clichés about nerds and blond girls. One more time the horizontal plot saves the show because without the story between Penny and Leonard a lot of people, that can’t comprehend references to nerd culture and science world, would have leave it.
