@bendikts That was the best part of the books and show. You could go from openly hoping a character is killed only for them to eventually grow into a favorite of yours.
I hated Varys until he finally started showing that he actually did care about the Realm and the commoners, and had some characters' best interest at heart. All because he was so good at playing "the part" he tried to explain to Ned: seemingly loyal despite no one trusting anything about him except for his "whispers".
