Jack Reacher is a really tall muscular guy in the books. Tom Cruise's ego is pretty big, so in his mind that made him perfect. Tom Cruise as a unstoppable tough guy, who can beat up many people at once. Sorry, I just didn't buy it. The movie is pretty decent nevertheless.
