Wow, this really is a bad season. The first couple of episodes are horrible enough to make me want to drop this series. Bad acting is one thing but scientific assumptions that completely don't pan out (0.2 diazepam for a "baby" leopard?) are quite another.
And what about the way Nora Arnezeder (Chloe Tousignant) speaks starts to annoy me more and more, everytime she opens her mouth it is as if she just ran a marathon. Her panting way of saying things is really annoying, instead of exotic or "french".
Now, the science behind this change in the animals is not something I criticize in my dislike about the scientific assumptions... but did the animals change that much that they can't smell a human that is about 200 meters away from them?
In epsiode 1 Jamie seems to think that if she doesn't show her self, the wolves and the buffalo that were chasing here, won't be able to find her... Smell is very important for wolves: "Scent plays a very important role in the life of the wolf, by smell alone wolves can locate prey, other pack members or enemies. It can tell them if other wolves were in the territory, if they were male or female, and how recently they visited." (from http://www.wolfcountry.net/information/WolfObserved.html) So the way Jamie is hiding? Come on. So the audience is apparently stupid, or at least the writers seem to think so.
Or what about the bee attacks in episode 1? Chloe survives out on the street, but someone in a car with a baby died because of the bees (or were they wasps?) and somehow the baby was unharmed...
I could go on and on and on... but this is not a stick of chocolate with a mountain on the wrapper and I think it is starting to become a waste of time and energy.
In short: If you liked season 1, maybe you shouldn't bother with season 2. If you did see season 1 but weren't really convinced about the "quality" of the show, better avoid season 2 altogether because wow-in-a-bad-way.
