Your lie in April 2014

One of the best anime I have ever seen. Of course I'm a sucker for romance and I love music, so there wasn't really anything to push me away from this. The only issue I had was the abundance of internal monologue. At worst it was an annoyance and at best it was minor, though, it only really ever got more minor toward the end.

This anime is beautiful in every single way, the art, the music, the story. A definite must watch. CAUTION: It will make you cry.

This show made me cry almost EVERY episode, especially near end...I mean WOW! One of the best I've seen in a long time!

This anime is a true masterpiece. That being said I don't think I'll ever watch it again. If I watch it again I won't be able to recover.

Yes, I cried with this anime, definitely a must watch. It is a bit predictable but the story is very good, good music and good art.

An Excellent piece of work!!! I felt the urge to watch the Next Episode after every episode. The ending was very clear from the beginning of the anime that the girl is going to die in the end. The music was the best thing in this anime, the only thing i don't like was the character animation but after few episodes i got used to it.
Overall i would recommend this anime to everyone..!

This anime is beautiful with the best emotional scene that will make you cry. It has the element of humour, romance and drama.

I would recommend to those who didn't watch it.

Just finished watching this anime and I'm literally sobbing right now. What a wonderful, deep, bright animated anime that is still so sad, but wonderful at the same time. Definitely a must watch.

Six episodes in, I can't get into this anime.
The slapstick humor seemed forced for a drama anime like this. Most of the main characters are unlikable. And this anime tried way too hard to manipulate my feelings, only to end up having me laugh like a shitty terrible person when someone cries.
The only saving grace of this anime was the musical performances. But that was it.
Yep, I am not going to continue watching this anime.

Just one episode in, I'm going to go out on a limb and call Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso as the potential sleeper AOTS. With a superb focus on music and its dynamic characters, I'm getting some early vibes of Nodame Cantabile reincarnated right here. Just listen to the OP once and you'll be hooked. It's also very cool that the anime will cover the entire manga as they're supposed to end at about the same time. This is a definite watch. As @ManiacB has stated, I just have to pray that A-1 doesn't screw this up because Nodame Cantabile + Moe = Winning.

Considering most of the other reviews on this page seem to have been made halfway through the season, I figured I'd add another one that was written after it ended. This is one of my absolute favorite anime series. The art and music are great. The drama is too, even though it is very predictable. Don't watch this show if you want constant plot twists. Don't watch it if you want to be surprised every week. But do watch it if you want excellent drama accompanied by some beautiful classical music. And keep a box of tissues ready.

On another note, this is one of the very few shows where I like both OPs and both EDs. Even those are perfectly matched to the show, and listening to the second ED has caused me some tears even months after the show ended.

literally sobbing as I'm writing this... I started watching thinking it's a happy anime... I mean it's just a bunch of 14 year olds having fun what could go wrong...but well I figured it was gonna have a sad ending still was not prepared for what's to come... I still had hope that she was gonna make it but oh well that's life...such a masterpiece...everything about it is just beautiful... so funny despite the sad ending... amazing portrayal of emotions... seriously I've never seen such accurate depiction of every possible emotion anxiety depression loneliness hope love... it's just perfect... I felt it in my bones.. almost like I was with them...every ounce of stress they felt resonated within me... also their speeches are just amazing... I wanted to write down everything that came out of their mouths so inspirational and relatable... they dealt with grief and death from every aspect in such a real beautiful way... All the characters are so well written too and their character development is amazing... and finally I love the title and the backstory... broke my heart but enjoyed it thoroughly

A very emotional story about love, friendship, and music. I can understand why people cried at the ending and I really enjoyed watching this show.

It was a highly emotional love story with heartbreaking scenes and no series have giving me so many emotions and fucked my hearth so much. I have not enough words to describe how angry how sad or how lucky I am. I had the luck to watch this masterpiece. No words anymore and you will cry a lot I promise

One of the best sentimental kind of anime. The plot somewhat disconnects and it doesn't add up in the middle.
Kaori's friends know that she wasn't feeling well and she never tells them that she has some disease and even at the end we still dk.
But in the later part of the anime, she's like 'Hey guys u know I have that disease right?'

It's enjoyable nonetheless

I am cautiously hopeful for this one. I like feel and the art style shown in the PV (http://youtu.be/Sk39zsayK_0) and being in the noitaminA block will hopefully mean something a little bit different. The plot doesn't sound massively original but it has the potential to do some interesting things.

I'm just hoping A-1 Pictures don't screw this one up like they have with a lot of other series recently.
