Season 2 release December 2022.
Omg what a show. Disturbing. But got hooked!
SPEAKING OF TRAUMA: (re: season 2)
Each week, I sit down at the TV with my bowl full of cereal and my heart full of hope, and each week I find myself disappointed. No matter how many new characters they try to introduce or develop (grown-up Van? The daughter who knows too much?) It doesn't make the dragged-out flashbacks of them in the filthy cabin any more tolerable. SOMEONE RESCUE THEM--not for their sake, but for the audience's! At least the theme song is super catchy. No return! No return! No reason!! Ep. 6 seems to be a turning point; I remain hopeful!
Really boring. Nothing supernatural nothing really happens. Just boring talk.
This show is very slow. Ep after ep nothing happens. Very disappointed after an interesting premise.
I was excited when I first heard there was a show about a female soccer team lost in the woods eating each other, then disappointed when I found out it was about cannibalism.
Just finished the show. It’s alright. Still not sure why everybody raves about it.
This show is for people who like super slow story development, character building, and lots of dialog.
The creators use shock value to suck viewers in by throwing in something crazy that’s totally random at every episode. This generates more questions which sucks you in further. While the whole time nothing is explained. They start the season with a massive bat shit crazy scene but no mention of it any further. They end the season with a massive bat shit crazy scene that is randomly placed. Even the trailer is designed to suck you in but what you think about the show after the trailer is for sure not what is season 1 after you watch it.
10 episodes and maybe there’s an hour or two if total progression (80%-90% is essentially filler).
Anyway watch at your own risk or if you have 10 free hours.
Seven episodes in and nothing is happening based on trailers and episode 1 opening scene.
In one way it’s like Lost, all about a single shock & awe each episode to get people hocked. I’m sure they will introduce The Others & some dark force that don’t want the people to leave.
There’s some good character development but most of the show is filled with slow dialog. Feels like it’s dragging.
Anyway I’m watching just to see if something happens. However I doubt anything special will happen and they’ll make us wait for season 2. At which point they’ll throw in more shocks which will open more questions. And push to season 3.
enjoying this so far!!! feels like The Wilds but way darker.
A bad CW teen drama meets gory Lost rip-off. What a recipe for disaster. I hated all characters, some of the worst writing and acting I've ever seen, the reveals and twists felt stupid and unbelievable, and hell even the music was horrendous...
Overall, I was entertained, but I found it to be a little too dark. Like including the filming. I wish there was more relief. I also feel like I didn’t love any of the main characters so it was hard to know who to root for. The storyline is really good though so it keeps you watching. Not the best but definitely entertaining!
I dropped it after the 5th episode. I can spot a bs Lost clone when it’s right in front of me. It can go nowhere without me along for the ride.
P.S. Juliette Lewis clearly shouldn’t be acting; she’s lost too many brain cells enjoying life.
i can't even begin to express how obsessed with this show i am!! theres so many possibilities for where the story can go, and i just love all of the characters so much. they fascinate me. i am SO incredibly excited to see where this show goes. season two cant come soon enough!!
After some stunning revelations
"I can't believe that you thought I'd been going to book club all this time!"
"THERE WAS NO BOOK CLUB?!"
Not gonna lie, the random comedic twists made me absolutely lose it
This is so well done from start to finish. Each episode does more to draw you in and the character development is 10/10.
A must watch!
Basically, “Lost” with cannibal soccer girls and an extra timeline set in the aftermaths. Sounds interesting, right? Unfortunately, most of the plot has been quite trivial and heavy-handed in its melodrama. Thrilling stuff like… wife hiding her one-night stand in the closet because her husband got back home, girlfriend worried about boyfriend being gay because he can’t get a boner. This whole first season could have been condensed into three episodes with no problems.
I like the 1996 parts, but 70% of the screen time is the present day storyline which is just really uninteresting. The fact that they're apparently going to stretch this out for 5 seasons gives me very little hope for the rest of this.
Juliette Lewis was not the best choice for Adult Natalie while Sophie Thatcher was incredible as Teen Natalie.
100 % recommend this show …. Sit on the edge of your seat holy crap!!! Must watch .
Good first season I think. I wasn't sure about the dual timeframe but I really like how it's playing out between both periods. Both sets of actors are very good, both the young and the older and some famous faces in there. Interested to see how the mystical / tribal elements play out next season. On the whole, keeps the attention and some interesting themes.
Absolutely fantastic dark drama, can't wait for Season 3!!
Can we have series with a season finale that feels like a FINALE, and not like a normal episode? They used to be a thing. Now, it's just series that go round and round, or go nowhere, or feel padded to the max.
There are a lot of promises made with that first episode that we do not get any satisfactory explanation for by the last episode. This is not a good way to make me excited for any future seasons, it only makes me feel obligated to watch it again. I really believe it could have been written to give a much better cliffhanger at the end.
This show is what you get from people who have been listening to too much "true crime" podcasts and think they are creative enough to reverse-engineer several 'thriller' threads into a retconned mess.
There's really not enough written for a proper TV show, giving it a surreal "high school life play" instead of a developed franchise. For example, the material comfort of the plane crash survivors is never really shown to degrade. They say they've been out there for weeks, but they are never really uncomfortable; for crying out loud, they are still wearing clean clothes by the last episode!! None of them lost their suitcases, so they all had their own pillows, blankets, and even managed to keep their formal clothes clean after several months of being out there. I really don't think it is too much to ask for Showtime to hire some of consultants to advise on some of the base-level deprivation they would have faced. I suppose I could be biased because I've watched every season of Alone and am amazed at how skinny those people get after only a few weeks in the woods.
The start was a stroke of genius it kept people watching
I just stumbled across this show, and I really like it. Sure, it is somewhat slow, like a good story should be, in my opinion. Yeah, there’s the usual American-tv-drama, because you got to check your boxes these days. But there is a lot of development, an interesting story, good characters and it is well made, too.
People who complain probably watch every Marvel or Star Wars there is, but sure, this is unoriginal. Give me a break. Its not perfect, but I for one have seen less of this in a decade than the Star Wars and marve franchise pooped out last year. Which is all diarrhea in different colors.
And in defence of Juliette Lewis performance, I saw her as a broken version of the younger self, which was pretty convincing to me. And made it that more tragic of what this kid became.
Ricci is great, too.
Good cast altogether.
All in all it was an entertaining two seasons with some of its goodness wearing off in season 2. but you can see the effort that went into this. The music is fitting and well chosen for the scenes.
If you occasionally read a book and have the mental ability to follow a slower developing story, this might be for you. If you are the one who skips forward as soon as someone starts to talk:
There’s a lot of Star Wars out there, enjoy!
Interesting...
stop forcing people to enter more text than they want. you will end up with junks.
:heart:x8
OK, right off the bat, I have to say the episode 1 opening scene is a bit of a red herring - but I'm sure they'll clear that up in season 2 or 3.
On the other hand, the rest of the show is a page-turner. I love the 4 main female characters. This show does kind of meander thru several different genres tho. Having said that, I found that I didn't care. It really keeps sucking you in, keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Is season 2 out yet?
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
Although I was tempted by the "LOST with cannibal soccer girls" premise, I had to give up halfway through the second season. It feels like the show is targeted at bored housewives who want to pretend they used to be edgy too when they were young, and that they can still be kind of edgy sometimes. Thrilling stuff like… wife hiding her one-night stand in the closet because her husband got back home, girlfriend worried about her boyfriend being gay because he can’t get a boner. It just kept going in circles with trivial dramedy with only a couple of impactful moments to keep the audience engaged.
Christina Ricci's pairing with Elijah Wood for twice the irritation was the last nail in the coffin for me.
[Movistar+] Even if you mix ingredients that individually taste good, the mixture can be nauseating. Something like that happens in this series that takes very recognizable elements from some modern tv shows to build a double story that tries to find a balance between genres. The result is a mess, between the mystery and the teenagers stories that even in the adult plot is more inconsistent than in the youthful one.
The quality doesn’t match up to its addictive watchability.
I just got one word to say about this show, magnificent!
Amazing cast, great soundtrack choices, but boy does this show jump the shark on season 2.
Favorite show about a group of insane queer girls do however wish I didn't have to watch whatever the present day storyline It really puts a damper on the most intriguing part of the show
the present/future ruined it, "modernized" it way too hard
Well, well, well, if it isn't the dark humor connoisseur! Let me tell you, "Yellowjackets" is one show that's not afraid to go there. It's like "Survivor" mixed with "The Hunger Games," and it's got more twists and turns than a corkscrew in a tornado.
The show follows a group of high school girls who survive a plane crash in the wilderness. They're stranded in the middle of nowhere with no food, no water, and no adult supervision. And let me tell you, things get dark real quick.
The girls start to form their own little society, and it's not long before they're doing things that would make even the most hardened criminals blush. There's murder, cannibalism, and even a little bit of Satanism thrown in for good measure.
But don't worry, it's not all doom and gloom. "Yellowjackets" has a wicked sense of humor that will have you laughing even as you're questioning your own sanity. There are moments of absurdity and dark comedy that are just pure gold.
And the cast is amazing. Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, and Christina Ricci all give performances that are so good, they're practically criminal.
So if you're looking for a show that's as twisted as a pretzel and as funny as a clown funeral on Halloween, "Yellowjackets" is the perfect choice. Just be prepared to question your own morals a little bit along the way.
This show will forever be burned into my brain as the show that couldn't even edit out modern parking lot solar panels in the background of the first episode when they were doing a flash back to the 90's. Not a small one and done blooper. They repeatedly showed the covered parking lot with the solar panels in the scene with the girls on the soccer field. I had to rewind to make sure I read the flash back correctly because the scenery didn't not match the 90's AT ALL!
Yawnfest, I can't stop going on my phone while watching this out of boredom. It jumps back and forth a lot, I have a hard time relating the young/old characters on who is who.
What is with the fake snow, pretty cheap looking.
First season really good; second season inconclusive, tedious, annoying characters
Show rated a 7. Season 1 rated an 8. Season 2 rated a 6
Season 1 rated a 8.4
First season; Great. Some good performances, both from the kids and the experienced. Interesting characters and development. Some tickling foreshadowing.
Second season; Meh. Characters have become solidified. The kids have four facial expressions each that are overused. Every foreshadowing is a twistaroo without resolution. Well, at least it looks like this season will be conclusive.
Third season forwards; Nope, we're going to milk this one with cliffhangers between seasons until it is no longer a cash cow and then we drop it, because fuck you audiences everywhere.
It started out a little slow, but once it got going my wife and I got sucked in. They really did a good job at making Christina Ricci not look like Christina Ricci. I thought she did a pretty good job considering she’s the queen of B rated movies. Either way I look forward to more seasons and seeing where this goes.

Well they pulled every cliche available in TV/ movieland in episode 1. What's the rest of the season going to be like?
Juliette Lewis has ZERO acting abilities, never has, never will - why does she keep getting jobs?
Very slow start but hopefully that will move on and improve from now on...
Update: NOPE. Utter crap.
