A+ Werner Hertzog humor in this episode
That was dire. Just fanservice nonsense giving Happy all the benefits of Hulk and none of the downside? And strong enough to take on Hulkbuster. Ridic. I know this show is all in good fun but there is usually a decent core to them and this just had too many gotchas to force the Die Hard homage
Sorry, but the premise is just stupid... does anyone actually think that Jarvis needs defragging? There are no backup systems that could prevent Hammer from taking over... And of course, Tony experiments with Banner's blood. Right.
Wonderful holiday episode. Enjoyed seeing Happy get to be the hero for once.
I'm sorry but I have to write it Disney will have to pay a royalty to Bruce Willis for "die hard" for this chapter, it's a blatant copy :person_facepalming_tone1:♂.
Sam Rockwell does a little dance on Charlie's Angels as well & it would be fun if they used that song here when Hammer did his dance
It's nice considering references and stuff, but also was very lazy. Solid as most of Christmas movies lol
MCU best Christmas until now continues on Gotg tho.
Uhm, Die Hard in the MCU?
This episode has particularly strong fanfic vibes. Like the Avengers spending christmas together is such a 2012 domestic avengers concept that doesn't fit into the post civil war mcu status quo. that plus all of the darcy stuff that gives 2011-2013 era darcyland fandom which isn't really a thing anymore with taika waititi's complete disinterest in pre ragnarok thor characters
so purely from the nostalgia of a era of marvel fandom long gone I appreciate this episode.
[6.8/10] I can appreciate what What If is going for here. Remaking Die Hard in Avengers tower through an MCU lens is a fun concept. Justin Hammer as Hans Gruber, and Happy Hogan as John McClane is suitable casting, and there’s a lot of fun to be had with cheeky references to everything from A Christmas Story to Jingle All the Way.
Somehow, though, the whole is less than the sum of its parts. The humor itself is amiable but enough, but there’s no real knee-slappers here. And at some point, the episode becomes a game of “spot the reference” more so than something that works on its own terms.
That said, it’s nice to have Sam Rockwell back as Justin Hammer for the first time in nearly a decade. Darcy is kind of annoying in this, but there’s something to Happy working feverishly (and bumblingly) to prove that he’s more than just a security guard to Maria Hill. And while I don’t know much about Purple Hulk, there is a certain charm to doing a Yuletide MCU story that can't be denied (other than Iron Man 3, of course).
All-in-all, this is more of a pleasant enough holiday lark than a true winner for What If or the MCU, but graded on the curve of an Xmas special, it’s still not bad.
A fun Marvel Xmas episode where Hogan saves Xmas.
The Werner Hertzog joke was the only decent thing about this episode.
So we now have ‘Hulk Hogan’?
LMAO
The story and how things happen are funny, the fact that Happy turns into the Hulk was weird, but well...
And the Avengers coming to the end with a Christmas theme gives something to the chapter
Thor coming last.
And Hammer is a good character, as a villain he makes you laug Hopefully I'll be back
Die hard lol...
So many great references in this episode, besides the obvious Die Hard one.
This was the best episode ever!

This was hilarious! Now I’m gonna watch Die Hard again.
