Recommendation : :x:

No surprises, no charm.

It's all been done before. Reincarnation in a video game is not something we've tried for the first time. I liked the beginning of the first episode, where they try to make us believe that Alicia will be the protagonist. But my appreciation ends there. The protagonist tells us quite early on in the story what's going to happen. So we arrive at the end of the season without any real surprises or interesting cliffhangers. As for the visual aspect, it's recycled. It doesn't stand out from the crowd. It's hard to recommend such an anime.

I enjoyed it.
I'm not really into slice of life anime, but one was right up my alley with the reincarnation/videogame aspect. I loved Yumiella. I'm glad I watched this one.

It’s a cute slice of life set in a reincarnated villainess (hidden final boss) fantasy magic world. Most of the episodes are about her life and trying to make friends while being discriminated against for her dark magic/strength. There is an overarching (video game) plot that is tied up in the last episode, but honestly that episode makes the ending feel rushed. Don’t watch this for a fight fantasy plot line - just as a cute ‘in the life of’ story.

[Spoilers] Yumiella (our villainess) is OP at the beginning and that never really changes, so the stakes at the end don’t feel earned (or even that high). The small plot twist is wrapped up fairly quickly and there is only a vague resolve to all relationship drama. It would have been more interesting to see a set up for season 2 with her resolve to take a position of power to change prejudice against dark hair, but that doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards for more than the vague epilogue we received.
