Vigil: Season 2

2x02 Episode 2

The plot holes in this season are gigantic.

Where to start? A terrorist attack in Scotland, where soldiers and foreign dignitaries are killed, and it’s the local plod who are leading the investigation.

Next up, the local detective (!!) — a female (!!) — flies to a Middle Eastern country (!!) to interview potential suspects, including non-British citizens (!!) — you can imagine that’d end well.

If you’re able to suspend your disbelief and keep watching, you’ll see the lead detective acting like Admiral of the Universe who outranks everyone. Barging in and interrupting live military operations, interviewing prisoners (whilst in a foreign country), Reading classified intelligence on a plane in full view of other passengers. It’s her world and everyone else is just living in it.

This isn’t a slight on the acting (always been a big fan of Suranne Jones), the script is just so implausible it’s laughable.

I’m betting Romola is the bad guy.

I'm guessing Barker took advantage of the poor girl and made a lot of promises about their future. At this stage it would be a red herring to think it's part of of the bigger plot though. More likely just a scumbag guy doing scumbag things.
Kirsten needs to be taking better care! Amy would go mental if she knew about that latest leap. They definitely shouldn't have gone there without backup. But then again it makes good drama so doesn't need to be realistic 100%

WTF....why all the detectives didn't carry any gun? It happened in both episodes when they came looking for dangerous suspect.
