Spoiler: One review at Amazon says not to watch because the season doesn’t have a happy ending. Um that is because they are probably hoping to come back ?.....duh. It’s called, a cliffhanger.
With that ending though, let’s hope it does come back. Definitely a dark humor ending. Though, Nora’s babyish reaction to Nathan not answering her. Felt almost out of character.
She knew he would be low on money. So him running out of chat time or whatever should have occurred to her.
Haha great show can't wait till next season!
Great show! Enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Happy to hear it has been renewed for a second season!!
Good ending, although somewhat flawed.
Nora knows how the lower gigs work, yet she calls him, expects him to be able to have a full blown conversation, and all that after he basically hacked the shit out of everything to keep her alive. Yet she causes him to freeze, and it's like she has no idea... while she's the person to introduce him to the lower levels and all that. She would have had to know.
And to top it off, couldn't she have donated him a few gigs? As far as I remember that's a way to keep going, "if someone nice" donates a few gigs. If I remember incorrectly then that also doesn't make sense
Just like this undying trope of "oh I suddenly found out something of your past that I don't like, despite you having been nothing but amazing for me and I am heads over heels for you, instant deal breaker". Just... please don't
Other than that, good to have some open end leading to season 2, but suspecting it won't be as strong.
I really, really, hope they get green lit for a second season. That cliffhanger made me more frustrated than any show has in a while.
Wow! What an episode. I don't think I'm disappointed by the ending. If anything, it got me frantically searching for a second season, (only to find out it hasn't been made yet!) What a huuuuuuuuuge cliffhanger, but more importantly, there's so much potential from here-on-out.
Here's what I thought of the ending: At first I didn't realize that Nora saw all of Nathan's restored memories, but I guess it makes sense that she would have. I found myself both agreeing and disagreeing with her when she was quick to judge Nathan harshly for how he did Jaime. The whole time during the last scenes I just knew Nathan was going to run out of data during their phone call. (Even though 2GB is paltry. That's the only part that never made sense to me.) The whole time I had the urge to yell at my screen to him: "Just say 'I love you' to her!!!" Alas, it didn't happen. And with Ingrid uploading herself to be with Nathan, and Nora going with Byron, I was definitely caught off guard. She definitely has motives if all she gives him is a pity gig.
I can't wait to find out what happens next!
Capitalism is messed up! This episode was good for wrapping up the story but it felt like it was missing something. Also the drama with the elevators and the conversation immediately afterwards was unrealistic.
I was skeptical of the show at first because it was a bit silly and corny, but it got better with every episode and now I can't wait for season 2. #Upload #PrimeVideo
okay, Greg. you did great. lot of messages in this show to takeaway. waiting for news on S2!
Poor ending, going for feeble drama and action when it's been comedy that's propelled it through the first season.
Season finale. Sometimes it is better not to remember. The thing gets intense. Let's see what happens in season 2
I was hoping Nathan's memories of being the 'bad guy' were tampered with. Is it still possible?
I cannot believe Ingrid has joined him and she's not even dead. Well I guess she is now?
So, everything was kinda boring the 10 last episodes up until this very exact moment when Ingrid uploaded lmaofffffffff. What a nightmare this girl is! Great character haha!
Stupid moments and the fact Ingrid killed herself ♂
7.5/10 - Tbh this episode "sucks" IMO. It might just be that this complex story and emotions are too difficult to convey but even then I'd simply prefer a slightly different story. I agree with the idea but it's just too frustrating/infuriating and too unbelievable for me.
Nathan's new memories do indeed make him somewhat of a bad person but:
1) I refuse to believe that our past have to define our future. People can change! Nathan just has an additional memory now - why do both Nathan and Nora believe now that he's a completely different person?!?
2) Nathan screwed his best friend over but AFAIK Jamie doesn't yet know of this and still betrayed Nathan by sleeping with Ingrid. This doesn't make Nathan's actions less bad but I'd say that the two are even now and none of them can really blame the other.
3) Nathan just wanted some money for him and his family while Jamie had other plans (and it looked like Jamie acted a bit unfair when he told Nathan so late). Anyway, I don't really blame Nathan for wanting "some" money and he still could've shared it with Jamie.
What makes this episode so frustrating is that many of the bad stuff could be avoided:
Anyway, at least the revealed Nathan's lie quickly...
The sensitive concierge is nice :D
Nathan hacking into the real world from Lakeview is a very interesting though/idea IMO. That would open lots of interesting possibiliteis. The elevator hack is of course completely stupid though. We already have enough problems with software bugs and hacks which is why we have additional hardware/software failsafes in such devices that aren't connected to the Internet and cannot be hacked that way. It'd be stupid to drop such failsafes in the future... And of course a normal elevator isn't even designed for such moves (the electirc motor isn't strong enough, the cables might snap, and you cannot accelerate faster than 1g downwards with a normal elevator - to kill someone your best shot would be to accelerate downwards as fast as possible and never stop/brake).
Luke not wanting/daring to visit Nathan doesn't make him a good/real friend to rely on. This isn't really surprising though... Luke is a funny guy and kinda always up to some mischief but not really someone to rely on.
That murderer seems to be quite stupid (his IQ must definitely be quite below average). I doubt the rich people who want to kill Nathan and Nora would hire such an unprofessional moron.
Nathan burning through 1.9 gig on day one does indeed make him a bad fit for that lifestyle. And it looks like he indeed couldn't handle Nora saying that she loves him.
Ingrid uploading at the end is surprising but not unbelivable tbh - it fit's her "stupidity"/personality.

Good way to end the season. Truly heartbreaking that Ingrid would kill herself for Nathan.
