Hmmm this first episode has me intrigued... I’ll see how this plays out
Has a similar wit as the Good Place. Except with a virtual reality world that isn’t actually heaven. With heaven meets technology. You get The Good Place meets Black Mirror. Which surprisingly works.
I wonder why the company would leave that data port thing out in the open if it's so critical. I don't buy that. I know "it's just a fantasy show" right.
Kinda stupid and kinda odd. Let's see how the rest of series would turn out
This show just looked like a comedy at first, with intriguing future visions... and not unlikely ones either. Liking the dark undertone I’m feeling though.
If only we could "print" actual food. But low fat cartridges don't sound so great haha.
Pretty good pilot. Got me intrigued and lol (the peeing part)
I watched this when it first came out. I cannot remember when or why I stopped watching. I'm giving it another go. I liked the first episode. Who was the invisible person deleting the memory files and why?
one and done for me. sure was not interesting and included naked people. always nice to have naked people pop up on the screen when you've got company :rage:
Not sure how I feel about it yet. I skipped on this one way back coz I knew the level of Robbie Amell's acting wouldn't be enough to carry a show. A friend recommended it though and I got curious.
The premise isn't a new one, especially in the Cyberpunk genre but it's an interesting view on it at least. I appreciated the explanation that people were essentially sharded in their program and they made a half decent attempt at realistic 'code speak' at the start. Many shows don't bother.
Story wise it's just a pilot so no idea where they'll build with it but going off the usual tropes I'm sure they'll be a will they won't they romance between the two leads. Guessing that his death has something to do with the project was creating since its been made clear that the self driving cars don't malfunction often and he has no memory of what he even used to code. Shenanigans afoot!
Yeah, I'm glad that I've decided to rewatch S1 before watching the second season. It's still funny and worth it :)
IIRC I didn't like this first pilot episode that much at first but was then really glad that I kept watching as it gets much better.
This time I'm also happy with this first episode - probably because I already know what's about to come and because I'm used to this style. It's a bit much and strange at first but it gets much easier.
The advertisement at the beginning is already a great start (funny/entertaining).
The music is nice (especially "Mary J. Blige Family Affair" after Nora leaves the train and arrives at Horizen).
One of the main issues that I have with this pilot episodes are the cheap car designs. The CGI is weak (low-budget or not enough time) and the cars look cheap (plastic-like, etc.). It's nice that they have them but I'm glad that the rest of the CGI is better or will get better.
It's funny that the cars have a "prioritize occupant" (vs. pedestrian) mode and that one is apparently still allowed to manually drive motorcycles (and bicycles).
It's also funny that the scanner causes the head to disintegrate while they apparently try to put people back into their body (of which the head should be by far the most challenging thing to rebuild due to the complex neuronal net / brain).
Nora is lovely! She and Nathan are quite a nice duo (while Ingrid is just silly/dumb).
Nathan: "Are there slaves?" facepalm
And Nora is totally right that Nathan's super weak password is "pretty poor security for a coder"!
Lakeview is quite entertaining but also super dumb at the same time:
On a technical note (as a coder): I wonder if that invalid syntax error on line 682 is meant as a joke. I guess so because that line is empty and even a non-programmer should realize that something is off. And, as a programmer, one notices that the complete thing is epically off. The filename is "tests.py", which implies Python code, but the file actually contains HTML code (could theoretically be embedded into Python code but I don't think so :D). Nathan doesn't use a monospace font and there are lots of real syntax errors in that file (body content in the head-tag, unclosed tags, ..., etc. - LOL!). Then Nathan claims that it's a null pointer issue while neither Python nor HTML do have null pointers (HTML actually isn't even much of a programming language). And the "error resolved" screen shows someone executing wpscrack.py (to crack Wi-Fi keys). Anyway, none of it makes sense, which is kinda funny, but it could've been much funnier with goofy eastereggs that are obvious.
Very Black Mirror-ish first episode. Wondering where this will go to,
Jfc with a premise like that one would expect some quality! Acting, weird tone shifts, "comedy moments" are all painful to watch.
Such a shame I was looking forward to decent tv show to be born out San Junipero's world. But oh well.
It has been curious and I want to see what happens, apart from seeing that future world
here because of Greg Daniels.
loved the Pilot, loved the theme. let's see where this is going.
I am expecting some easter eggs from The Office. don't let me down, Greg.
All these upload's memory files (.mem) can be best proof-ever on court floor!
Loved the first episode! Great!

Interesting premise and an intriguing start. Sort of a high tech "Heaven can wait", but, instead of downloading into a new physical body, we have digital avatars, and an A.I. controlled "heaven", complete with in app purchases, ads, and designer farts. The protagonist(s) are likable, and apparently, there is some malfeasance afoot, as Nathan and his partner were working on a free version of of the app for the masses. Let's see where this goes....
