Season 1 and season 5 are epic television. I rarely watch basic tv channels because their way to P.C for me & typically awful writing. Compared to shows that's on HBO or showtime. But this show from Australia is from a basic channel and is on par as any cable show out there.
Definitely watch if you like stuff like the wire, sopranos, Ray Donovan Etc...

later seasons have hit or miss moments, and i found S3 to be pretty weak. Good news, they're only semi-connected, with some overlapping characters and a general theme of Australian gangsters, drug kingpins, and mafia dons.
Season 1 is an absolute recommendation though. Some cheesy acting is completely counterbalanced by an interesting soundtrack, unique style and a compact story that leaves one satisfied by ep 13.
