The first season of Titans is not a good representation of the team. The series swings a lot between good episodes and very bad episodes. The best episode was when the team first met and fought against the Nuclear Family. There it was the height of the characters and the best interaction of them throughout the season. Dick Grayson certainly was the member of the team with better exploration and he was well interpreted. I liked to see your past and your reasons for abandoning Batman. It certainly had a good development over the course of the season, but I think the final kinda messed that up. It was also that he was too violent for an incarnation of Dick Grayson. He looks like Jason Todd. Raven, Beast Boy and Starfire were exploited in a very superficial way, always presenting little about their past. It seems that the series was not of the Titans but of Dick and his friends. With the exception of the main character, all were underappreciated. But the minor characters stole the scene. I really enjoyed Doom Patrol, Jason Todd, Hank, Dawn and Donna Troy. They had good times and even steal the scene from the main characters, with the exception of Dick. The big negative point of the series was her lack of line-up and the choice of Raven's actress. Many episodes were fillers and took focus from the main plot. Perhaps with a number of 8 episodes, the season would be more focused on the main plot. It took me a long time to finish this series because of that. Another point that bothered me was the acting actress who plays Raven. She is not good and has given no credibility to perssonation. They should have cast another actress. One thing I expect in a second season is that the tone is less gloomy. I thought the series had unnecessary violence and a very somber tone for a team that is the Titans. I hope you can improve this. The visual effects range from very good to very bad, but overall the balance was positive considering the low budget of the series. The soundtrack is completely forgettable, and the most memorable track is the credits. I hope you can make it better in a second season. Overall, the first season of Titans was not good being that the highlights were just the minor characters. And that in a series is fatal. Dick was well-characterized, but the others were obscured and forgettable. Already the secondary ones were a show to the part and I hope to see them in a second season or in other productions of the DC. This first season has not left the taste of watching the second season, but I will make an effort to watch at least the first episode when she is released.
Titans Season one lacked any type of flow in the story telling episode to episode. Plus it was the worst finale I have ever seen WTF. Although I will be back for season 2 in hope of improvement.
Oh, it started out so promising... I do enjoy a good super hero story and particularly much so if the ladies get to be more the kick ass-kind than damsels in distress. Then only a short bit into the first season it got all discursive and there were whole episodes about stuff that really didn't have anything to do with the main story - as a matter of fact I started wondering if there WAS a main story.
The last half of the season I watched while doing something else, because I honestly didn't care much for what they did or if they made it to the next episode.
I will not watch the next season. This has been enough waste of my time.
Good first season. I feel like it could've been better, though.
This one's kinda hard to judge because it seems like a big departure from the little I've seen in the animated movies. To be clear, I don't read the comics and I've only seen a handful of the animated movies but my impression has always been that Titans was more comedy and adolescence than darkness and violence. And this show definitely is more of the dark and violent type. There's nothing wrong with that but it felt very different from the other Titans iterations I've seen.
Nevertheless, I though it was pretty good but not great. I think they could have done less about Dick Grayson to make more room for the other characters. Rachel gets a decent amount of time and Koriand'r doesn't remember anything so I guess that's a good excuse? But we definitely could have gotten more about Gar. Even Hawk and Dove get more time than him. And Doom Patrol and Wonder Girl only make brief appearances. What we do see about Grayson and Rachel felt believable and real though. Their relationship, as well as Dick's struggles with his past, take up much of the season outside of the plot.
As a casual viewer, I really don't have any big complaints but I also wasn't blown away. Performances seemed decent all around. However, for real fans of the Titans, I could significant complaints about this series' departure from the source material.
FIRST THOUGHTS:
There’s a lot to like here - a pretty solid cast, a nice reimagining of some classic superheroes, some attempts to dig into the psychological consequences of the lives these characters lead… But like so many attempts to “legitimize” comic book stories, it needlessly emphasizes the dark and the more brutal side of the narrative in an effort to appear more gritty or grown up. The endless cliffhangers get a little tiresome, but I like a lot of the story beats, I just wish they would have actually finished the story this season.
Love it. Why does HBO have to be so good at DC? Love this, Doom Patrol, & Harley Quinn. Amazing. Hope they keep making more dark, awesome stuff like this
Everything went well until that Season Finale which cut the story and connection of the episodes before. Finale SHOULD have better. 7/10
I came into this without knowing anything about Titans. My expectations were low (they have been pushed low with some recent releases) and my main reason for watching, I saw Titans had been renewed for season 2.
Long story short actually enjoyed it. I've always been a fan of dark, gritty shows and this didn't suck. The soundtrack suited, the theme music punches.
I needed to look up the characters (tools you I didn't know anything about Titans), but that's okay. I did like the introduction of the spin off team, they look interesting too.
The way we got introduced to the characters I found acceptable and the main story arc is curious. I'm definitely looking forward to the season 2 arrival.
Poor special effects, not interesting, promotion of alcohol consumption.
PS. -1 for season ending

I had such high hopes but this season has been a real disappointment. It doesn't even feel like there's a main story. Like they had trouble making connection between the episodes.
And wtf kind of season finale is that? It's like "hey, we have no idea what we gonna do with the main characters of this series. So, here, just have some batman and joker story to get you hyped till we figure it out. See you next season!"
Everything felt so rushed and we didn't get any closure. Maybe it would have worked better with a 23 episodes format. I hope season 2 will get us somewhere.
