Mulder is soooo in love lol

It's very funny to see the shoe on the other foot, with Scully the 'expert' and Mulder offering less than his usual help.

I can’t believe that this episode is written by Stephen King :x Giving 6 just because I liked the catchy dialogues between Mulder and Scully. ;)

You can tell from the very first frame that this is StephenKing-ish (seriously, pause the episode at the beginning as soon as it fades in) - the fact that this is actually written by Stephen King makes it even better. The bits with Mulder are really funny and it is nice seeing the role reversal.

A killer doll is pulled out of the ocean and given to a little girl and they start randomly killing people that piss them off. There was some decent atmosphere here and I never realized how spooky the song "Hokey Pokey" could be but it was overused and the whole episode ended up being very repetitious. I did like the interplay between a vacationing Scully and the Sheriff.

Wow, what an irritating episode, especially because of this super annoying doll and this ill-bred girl (guess she was like that because of the doll, but oh well..). The story was ok but I'm not interested in such low-horror stuff, that's just boring.

I was hoping that this episode would, at the very least, be entertaining given that the first two Child's Play movies are guilty pleasures of mine and I have a rather embarrassing fear of dolls. And yet "Chinga" really bored me. Stephen King writing an episode of The X-Files sounds awesome but here, the episode didn't seem to really fit the tone of the series for me (whether it be humour or terror) and the cold open was one of my least favourites.

The doll was laughably un-creepy, the mystery was weak and watching a somewhat passive Scully and an entirely absent-minded Mulder in this episode wasn't all that joyful either. "Chinga" lands as really forgettable for me but it at least has the great Kim Manners going for it, whose direction is one of the few sharp elements of this episode IMO.
