The X-Files

Season 10

Wow, packing a great beard, Skinner! Can't wait to see it in proper action. And yes, we get cancer man again! It was great to see him in Continuum, but seeing him back here is even better: we all know that he was the real reason to keep watching X-Files!
HEY MULDER! Just had to get some californication between seasons, eh? Haha. And ah, Scully, pleased to see you back as the voice of reason, I'm glad that even Hannibal couldn't keep you for dinner.

Man, I'm excited about this show. Can you tell? Season 10! Woohoo!

IMHO, this "Event-Series" was a missed opportunity to create an extended length plot and character driven story, complete with a resolution of some sort. Instead it was more like a 2-part episode sandwiched with 4 unrelated stories in the middle. Episode 5 was indirectly related, as it seems to be introducing the newer younger versions of Scully and Mulder -- maybe they'll be the central characters if they ever decide to conclude the cliffhanger ending.

None of the episodes were awful, overall pretty good -- hugely disappointed though that there wasn't really continuation of a single plot throughout the 6-episode opportunity :-(

Absolutely disappointed in this remake. Definitely a show they should have left well alone.

after watching episode 6 we are yet again left on a cliff ;) does this mean more...... ? I hope so :))

Ok this season is a hoax: 2 episode with the story, 3 with a remembering od good old time and one with a honest parody of good old time... Fox are now Hank Moody...

Mostly disappointing, ultimately pointless.
I don't think the creators and writers planned this season/event series well enough to make a successful comeback. The disjointed two-part return to the mytharc (which seemed to essentially retcon the previous nine seasons...) separated by four mostly okay filler episodes was not the way to go for such a short season. A more in-depth mytharc centered season would have fared much better, as much as people like "monster of the week" episodes. As a result of this lack of focus in the writing, the best episodes of the season were not even the mytharc episodes. For me, the two stand-outs were "Founder's Mutation" and "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster". I think this is down to a poorly paced and written central plot that backtracks over established X-Files mythos to implement a rather boring and underdeveloped threat.

They tried to give us everything that made X-Files great. There's a couple of "mythology" episodes, there's the completely silly one (and it's the best one), there's the one with the B movie / slasher feel... it's all there. And they also tried to make it more relevant for this age in terms of themes and with the main storyline creeping up in every episode. On paper, it made sense. The problem is that X-Files is still in the same situation of the last couple of seasons: it's become quite stupid. The mythology episodes are extremely silly even if they don't want to be and the rest only works because there's some dumb fun in it.

Poor remake, expected more! Just watch Ep1 and Ep6, thats it. Two episodes and your done! Other episodes are just not necessary!

What the hell are they doing ? 2 of these episodes are complete trash (were-monster, and clay-bandaid man???) like what you'd expect from a "supernatural" episode. And then you get scenes with Mulder high af. Wth ppl whos is writing this crap and who is actually directing it ?

Hopefully the Cigarette smoking man back after we saw him blown to bits in the series finale; makes sense. They also need to explain why the future alien take over he said would happen in 2012 never happened.

Chris Carter firebombs The X-Files with a Season 10 miniseries that throws out the series mythology and begins anew. Fox Mulder and Dana Scully rejoin the FBI and reopen the X-Files division after an investigative journalist named Tad O'Malley exposes the Syndicate’s true agenda. However, the show quickly becomes episodic, following a monster-of-the-week format, and doesn’t really have an over-arcing storyline. In addition to David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis and a few others reprise their roles from the original series. And there are some nice homages and callbacks that help to create a familiar feel. Season 10 of The X-Files has its moments, but overall it’s a weak revival that doesn’t accomplish much.

I have been watching the whole series as I didn't watch it when it first came out, mulder's acting in this is really crap and he seems to be playing for laughs, really disappointing

I have just finished re-watching this in preperation for the 11th season and I must say with the exception of the Were Monster and some nice Mulder/Scully moments it wasn´t that exciting. And seeing how they concluded the cliffhanger at My Struggle II it puts the whole season down another step. There has just too much time past this could not have been how they originally envisioned the story to be.

Its fantastic to see such an important show from the 90's be rehashed with original cast. Its never going to be like the original first few seasons but I don't think they did a bad job here. Here's hoping we get a season 11 nice and quickly.

After watching the entire season i think it could be interesting. For this season only episodes 1, 2 and 6 are watchable.

This TVshow should keep going...i love when Scully has conclusions about a case...giving her a long parlament.
On purpose, where's William?

Just saw the 6th episode and ...WTF ? If this is really END, then it's one of the bad ends I ever saw :( I hope there will be S11.

I´ve had a lot of fun watching this season but hopefully this isn´t the end. It can´t be. I just hope the gamble will pay of and the story continues.

What the fuck?! There is going to be an 10th season? Are you kidding me?!?! If you are, I am seriously pissed with you, Trakt!

However, should it be true and should season 10 be as brilliant as were seasons 1 through 6 I would be delirious with joy (heck, I would even settle for something as good as seasons 7 and 8)!
