The Witcher: Season 1

1x08 Crossroads

This episode shows the famous fight with the striga, described in the first short story about the Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski. Though the striga herself is more funny than scary due to the technical limitations at the time the show was filmed, the episode follows the book quite faithfully which a big plus. There are also some parts taken from "The Voice of Reason" story, and Anna Dymna is a rather good Nenneke, underlining the motherly qualities of the character. The final conversation with Calanthe is shortened though, a far cry from Geralt and Calanthe verbally feuding in the book. There is only one additional scene which was not in the stories, that of the meeting between Geralt and the young witcher hunting him, but this was not very irritating. Pity they had to shorten the Calanthe scene because of it.
