Having not read the comics I was ready to hate King Ezekiel due to the over-the-top nature of the character. However his self-awareness makes him really interesting.

Never kill off Carol!
Carol: I don't know what the hell is going on in the most wonderful way!
Lmao

Ezekiel is going to be an interesting character. Carol’s journey is somewhat irritating as I just want her to pull a ‘No Sanctuary’ move and save the poor group!

I love King Ezekiel, it's nice to see Carol being Carol, and this episode actually looked like a graphic novel so kudos to... whoever made that happen (the director and the DP?). MUCH better than last week's episode, imho.

I haven't read the comics so I didn't quite know what to expect from The Kingdom, but damn was the King awesome, and his court jester was funny as hell. It was really good to finally see some hope for the group, and the overall happiness this episode was refreshing.

Typical TWD. A great start and second episode complete shit as usual.

What happened?!? From the unbelievably brilliant first episode worthy of an award to the same crap again in episode 2, another community, another lame story-line. And the king?!? It was cringe-worthy viewing. Very disappointed :( Maybe you should move away from the comic story-lines as they are dead in the water and repetitive on screen.

This episode dragged so bad. Nothing happens. This new character is a joke and the writing of the last season is back with awful, quirky humor that feels so out of place. I don't know why this started becoming a thing last season but apparently it's here to stay. It's like someone is a FIrefly fan on the writing staff and no one can tell them that they just aren't funny. The main problem is that this is well-worn territory at this point. Haven't we done the "inexperienced, friendly community that is inevitably going to get destroyed" enough? More importantly, didn't we just do this last season? After the brutal opening episode, you'd like to think the tragedy existed in order to kickstart a new era of Walking Dead. Instead it feels like a desperate attempt to get ratings with something shocking but ultimately vain. I'll watch a couple more, after all some of the best seasons of the show took three episodes to get good, but I'm just about ready to give up on this show.

A nice reversal in tone from the first extreme episode, with engaging world-building around the show's best character, Carol.

Ezekiel was presented as over-the-top, comical character at first - we got that much from trailers - but the episode reveals how he's such a humane character, with self-awareness what's going on around him. This episode portrays Carol and Morgan adjustment in the Kingdom, more into characterization which is nice. The thing that kinda disappoints me is how the writer portray Morgan's change of mind (of his pacifism) in a kinda in-your-face, not-so-subtle way.

A decent episode, I think I found half of it to be great (Carol, Ezekiel & Shiva), while the other half to be...not so great (Morgan teaching staff skills) - 6.8/10

Is “cards on the table” a southern/east coast thing lol or the writers using the same unique saying for different characters, because Rick/Eugene and now the king have said it

From here on, it is science-fiction.
