After years of living with walkers, why are people still making incredibly stupid choices like putting flowers on dead bodies, which will bite them, of course?! It's not realistic... people should be terrified of dead bodies.
Just as bad as Morgan's cheese maker saving him and getting bit.
one does not simply touch daryl's crossbow and get away with it
6.5/10
Every once in a while, The Walking Dead does an episode that's a little more impressionistic, a little more poetic. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Tyreese's big episode was an absolute highlight of the season, if not the series. This episode, however, left me cold.
I like the idea of Abraham and Sasha as two different shades of PTSD. They've both seen some serious things, and had some serious traumas in their past, and each finds it hard to cope when things are quiet, albeit in different ways. But that doesn't make the two of them spouting off to each other with dialogue that sounds like slam poetry work. I get what the show was going for with the story. I admire the attempt at artfulness and in the scenes where they didn't actually speak (Abraham finding the cigars and...roaring(?) at the zombie) came off a little better, but overall this little tale of theirs was a false start.
Daryl's story with the trio of survivors from some gang of kneelers (it didn't seem like The Wolves -- a little too organized, but who knows?) was a bit more compelling. Norman Reedus does a lot of subtle acting when he's playing the strong silent type, away from the grandiose, improbable speeches that make up much of the show's dialogue. I appreciated the thematic material of Daryl having this impulse toward kindness and mercy, and how that manifests itself in contrast to Rick's increasing mercenary ways, but this little story, captured--kindness--defense--betrayal, is a bit rote for this show. And the three survivors that Daryl encounters (including one who fits Betty Draper's decription of "with that blouse, she's everyone friend") didn't do much to distinguish themselves or make their plight interesting or new. Not everything can be, but this is a story we've seen before, and a strong performance from Reedus was the only thing holding it together this time around.
Otherwise, the walkers in the mud that Daryl came across were well done, and even when the narrative fireworks aren't going off on The Walking Dead, you can at least count on some cool zombie stuff.
(Oh, and as an aside, I got a weird Confederate General vibe from Abraham in the uniform, and for all his flirting with Sasha, what about Rosita?)
"Loose ends make my ass itch." - Abraham
It was Glenn on the radio?
At this pace, something noticeable will happen in about 10 episodes. If producers want to induce boredom with this show, its a success.
The Daryl subplot is interesting: it introduces new group which seems to lead to new antagonists. I wonder if they're hinting more Wolves involvement here since they went into that trailers that are overrun by zombies (the same trailers that Aaron and Daryl visited in previous episodes?).
The Abraham-Sasha subplot though, not so much. Not that it's bad but the show can flesh more on Abraham's character.
Terrible episode, hopefully the worst of the season. Skip it and miss nothing. Dull action and suspense that we have seen before in every season
How can you get killed so stupidly? And Daryl getting owned after being kind..
F*cked up world for sure :p
WAS THAT GLENN'S VOICE!!!!!!???????????
"A man can tell" Geez, Abraham! You gave me goosebumps!
Poor Daryl! Finally when he's starting to get some piece of peace after the whole Beth story (#teamdelusional, btw), now that he got faith and believe that's still good people around appear these 2 piece of sh*t! Urgh, TWD writers, urgh! However, kudos to Reedus acting!
Please let that be Glenn on the radio!!! PLEEEEAAAAASE!?!?!?!
Dwaight has the cross bow now
"..bread crumbs" hmm interesting survival tactic; staying stealthy
I liked the dialogue between Abraham and Sasha. Daryl's part of the story was a lot more interesting though.
Daryl has such a big heart... <3
In the end it's Glenn's voice, isn't it? Looks like none of main character will die in the nearest future. That's boring, as the most exciteing episode was the one where Glenn was hit by those walkers and was supposed to die, even though he escaped (using some kind of magic or teleportation, for sure), as far as I can see.
And this scene with Daryl. Guys tried to kill you ones, then you helped them (for some reason, that only God knows), now they're trying to kill you again and taking away your bike and your crossbow. What have you been waiting for? You're not an idiot. Oh, wait, you actually are.
One of the worst seasons for me ever.
Erratic Daryl, Unbearable Sasha. Abraham saved the episode.
Gleeeeenn? don't play with me like that, people!
Was that fucking Glenn in the end?

A better episode than the previous one.
Finally Daryl actually had more scenes, although his whole theory of saying that maybe he was stupid to come back for those people ended up proving right in the end when he was double-crossed... I have to say that I get that those two strangers were trying to survive and all, but that was a low move towards a guy that actually helped them when he didn't had to, not to mention that they took not only his bike, but also his crossbow and left him stranded there unarmed. They can be good people and "theoretically" not killed anybody, but moves like that sort of make them worst.
It was great seeing that Sasha is back to normal and in control of her feelings again. I loved how she called Abraham up on his BS and made him actually work through his issues and also apparently being back to normal again. Those grenades might come in hand soon :D
I like how they found each other in the end and are all heading back home...
Now I do wonder who was the one asking for help... because part of me wants to believe it was Glenn, but another just didn't recognize that voice as being his.
