in need of psychological help after this episode
There are no more Asian people in the TWD Universe! lmfao
I hope Glenn is alive, because if he's not, I'm gonna be very disappointed. This is not the way you kill a main character.
It's surprising, to say the least. There's been an obvious dead flag throughout the episode, but this person has escaped from such dead flag again and again. This time though - this person doesn't survive.
Lots of people die in this episode, so the death is a bit unexpected and and the same time... seems a bit less dramatical. We had a whole episode for Tyrone, a climactic end for Beth, even moments of atonement for Merle. But this person seems to be one of the crowds. Which, actually, makes sense in a post-apocalyptic world such as in Walking Dead's - it's unforgiving and death is just a statistic. But for a person who's been with the audience for a long time to be gone, just like that, seems a bit unsettling for me. I guess there's still more to come.
It's Glen. He's one of the characters who's been around since the beginning. He's had some legitimate character development over the years. So why don't I care about his death?
Maybe it's because this was an exhausting episode. Some of television is exhausting in a good way--conveying the sense that the viewer, like the character, has been through something--but this was a slog, full of heavy-handed dialogue and images about (yet again) what it takes to survive. And Glen is the latest casualty of this debate, leading the unexpectedly intriguing Nicholas into unexpected peril, and having it all become too much for this Alexandrian who is not as accustomed to having to earn survival the same way that Glen is. Glen's death is filmed and scored well enough, with images that are meant to convey the severity of what's happening, but which fell flat with me on an emotional level for some reason.
Again, maybe it's just because this episode was so blunt. Rick has gone off the deep end in terms of his self-assured cravenness again, and I'm sure we'll have some further tired exploration of that. Bitten husband guy is a walking symbol for Michonne learning to open herself up to human relationships again (probably with the survivor who cheesily eavesdrops on Rick's instructions). As always, the actress who plays Michonne gives a strong performance, but the material didn't give her much to work with. To boot, the scenes where they all escape from the hoard were not particularly well set up or explained, as I had a hard time figuring out what the various, jumbled plans are.
So by the time I got through the slog of all that and we reached Glen's death, it couldn't have the impact it should have because I was already numbed by all the on-the-nose dialogue and endless clunky meditations on what kind of person survives in this world. The Walking Dead is a show that has wild swings in quality, and after the high point of last week, this was an unfortunate nadir.
Damnit! I just /had/ to go and disobey my own rules. There's a reason I only watch this show just before bed: it has lasting effects and leaves you in an emotional state after watching..
Darnit; now I have to put my morning-ritual happy-happy-joy-joy playlist on again.
Oh dear oh dear me
Can't believe Glenn is gone!
NO. What the actual fuck!
NO. NO NO NO NO. I refuse to believe Glenn is really dead.
Please let it have been Nicholas' guts being torn apart by walkers.
edit: "We will see Glenn, some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn again"... Hearing the creator of a zombie show say that about a seemingly dead chracter doesn't give me much hope. Or maybe Maggie really is pregnant?
I don't think Glenn is dead. I mean he just can't. HE'S GLENN FOR FUCK'S SAKE.
Rick is also okay cause annoying characters have to stay alive till the end ahah...
Anyway, fuck this ep.
This episode was so depressing
Come on people. Glenn is ALIVE. They pulled a "Jon Snow" with this one you guys.
Plus, I've got a pretty good feeling episode 4 might just finally introduce one of MY personal favorite characters. Jesus AKA Paul Romero.
Bring. It. On.
There's no logical way Glenn can survive. Even if that assface Nicolas fell on top of him, they're both practically swimming in a pool of walkers. And those fuckers eat everything they can get their hands on, not just the torso part. So someone is definitely chewing on Glenn's arms and legs and soon face. It was a bit weird that they've killed one of the main characters in episode 3 and not in midseason or season finale. Hell they didn't even put that scene in the end of said episode, to make it more impactful. Or give poor guy more screen time for that matter. But yeah, whether he's really dead or will miraculously survive, it will be cheap either way.
Glenn is not dead, stop crying!
Great episode but killing off Glenn totally sucked. He was one of my personal favorites and was one of the most evolved charachters since season 1. Gutted :'(
Very very good episode, high intensity that the has been there from the get go. Going on Record now to say i think Glen is not dead, it was Nicholas who the zombies ate. Also is this the series where Rick loses his hand? Love this show and how it constantly pushes itself
Not Glenn!! Did Rick get walker blood in the cut on his hand?
WHAT?!?!?! WTF?!?!?! I was so shocked with the episode that I couldn't even put my thoughts together to make my comment about it.
Talk about a tense episode, where one time or the other I was worrying about one of the group.
Loved seeing Michonne defending Rick's orders and also lecturing Heath regarding his naivety about the world now. I was so sad about the guy who wanted to send a note to his wife and didn't make it (maybe she hasn't survived the Wolves attack so she won't feel the pain of losing him).
I like Scott is still alive! I think he can be an interesting character for the show. I do wish that woman (Annie?) had still survived because it felt premature to have her die.
Rick was amazing taking out those wolves that attacked him at the RV (thanks a lot Morgan for that)! But I really want to see what he will do to get out of that cliffhanger we got there.
And now Glenn :( :( :( Seriously, he is my favorite since the beginning and that was not the ending I was expecting for him, specially in an episode 3 (I could see it being a mid-season finale or a season finale).... Now that my feelings have calmed down a bit, I am a bit positive about some things.... not the case now.
Nicholas took the easy way out and in doing so really screw up Glenn... a shame because he really was starting to change and redeem himself... But dude, I was cursing him for being the cause of Glenn's fall from that dumpster.
Side comment that Daryl really needs a storyline... he is such an awesome character that has just been standing there since last season (and barely has a personality anymore)... Even Father Gabriel has had more SL lately than him.
I need therapy after watching that. I'm in shock!
this is the walking dead show that I missed.
the way rick was broken shattered my heart
this was the most stressful, anxiety inducing episode. holy motherfucking shit. i don’t think i can fall asleep.
GLENN??!!!!! nicholas fucking SUCKED and glenn gave him a chance and believed in him and he just goes and kills himself so he doesn’t feel any pain while glenn gets eaten alive because of his shitty actions. i am MAD. and also on the verge of tears. fuck you nicholas.
I don't believe that Glen is dead, my guess saids that he will survive...
My most beloved The Walking Dead character is now dead.
R.I.P. good fellow..
Really enjoyed this episode. In the good old comic series style - no one is safe, anyone can die.
Gives some interesting scope for some recent character entries to build our interest.
If the keep up this pace in this series, I really dont know if my heart will handle it, what with this and fear the walking dead, its on all year round, I was on the edge of my seat this whole episode, absolutely outstanding......and that jaw dropping moment..... wow, I have my own theory.....but well done again The Walking Dead
One of the few series that really gets my adrenaline pumping. Especially this episode. Wow.
WHAT?! Awesome episode of this season, though!
I AM DESTROYED for this episode
First state of grief: Denial. Rest in pieces! LOL
(via TV Blaze for WP)
you know what fuck this show

I'm not sure I wanna keep watching this after this episode :/
Glenn will be alive next episode with a heroic escape from the zombiepile on top of him.
The body of nicolas will be the explanation what we saw when we though glenn was suppose to be eaten.
They wore the same t-shirt color!
Walter bishop has said it!
OMG
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
WHY GLEN xO
Seeing a second time; It's a little early for goodbye. He's a veteran survivor. He'll find a way out
#TheWalkingDead
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! NO NO NO NO NOOOO
With everything that was happening the group split up and Rick cuts his hand and gets jumped it was just a matter of time before one of our main cast paid the ultimate price
Nooooooooo Glenn! I am so sad. Glenn was the best of them. And Maggie may not be my favorite character, but I feel sorry for her. She's has no one left.
Ain’t no way this is how they killed off Glenn. I can’t and won’t believe it.
Glenn!!! Oh my god, I've hated Nicholas from the get-go after he was stupid enough to kill Noah, but Glenn... This series is incredibly intense and I can't believe the amount of walkers and people and havoc!!!
I was really liking Glenn and Nicholas's budding bromance... rip
The cruel thing about this episode isn't the thought of Glenn dying. It's the thought that MAYBE, SOMEHOW he might have made it just because he had Nicholas on top of him when they both fell into the horde. Either way, I'm left feeling pissed off at this episode. If Glenn is alive somehow, I'm pissed off because logically there's no way he should have made it out of that many walkers right on top of Nicholas and him. If he is actually dead, I'm even more pissed off to have one of my favorite characters who I've seen grow so much die in such a stupid way. I've been pissed off ever since he tried to save that piece of shit Nicholas, and now he's trusting him out of all the capable characters to get the both of them out of a bad situation. Ever since the start, I've known Glenn as one of the most reliable characters to find a way out of the worst situations, and for someone like that to trust someone like Nicholas to find a way out is completely unrealistic for his character. It's also completely unrealistic if Glenn is somehow alive, either way, fuck this episode.
That's one hell of a way to say thank you
Começou muito loko essa temporada!
Good episode but that headshot was so random lol
did they just kill [spoiler] ??
The Walking Dead its over today for many people
I kind of expected that Glenn my die, Sad because of that guy he died :(
motherfucker Nicholas, i can't believe it. i hope it was only a dream like with Pamela and Bobby
I cant, I cant take this.... why kill Glenn? He was basic they cant do this....and still
Glenn can't die!!!! First of all he is one of the favorites and second he deserves a better death and third Nicolas was in top of him. So I refuse to believe that he is dead. Because then I will be too :))))
R.I.P Glenn
one of my favorite characters :/
No way, I refuse to believe that Glenn is gone. They would've given him a much more epic send off than this. Falling off a damn dumpster... there's no way..
This just sickens me but like someone said it's too early to tell. I think he'll find a way out. I think Nicolas is the one getting eaten cause he fell on top of glen. Only one can hope!
Why him!!! I can't stop crying!!!!!
Nooooooo Glenn! Why him D:
This is where things fall apart... /:C\
