This was a completely unsatisfying finale.
It felt rushed, the writing was terrible, and some characters didn't even get more than 1s of screentime, while nobody even mentioned them (looking at you, Jeremy).
I know that past 3 seasons were horrible, but I thought that in the end, this show can redeem itself. Oh, how I was wrong. This so-called finale is even worse than the last 3 seasons.
Literally one of the worst finales I've ever seen.
Thanks for ruining my once favorite show, Julie. I hope you never get to write anything else again, your incompetence has been evident for seasons now, but this episode is your masterpiece of messy writing.
I'm good. 100 percent satisfied. Superb series finale. Moving on to The Originals and hoping there are more similar productions in the near future.
I'm a bit sad the show is over but I'm not that glad about this series finale.
1- If the plan was to kill Stefan just so he could be the hero of the day, there were other ways.. That whole Redemption thing.. I'm kinda surprised it didn't say on his grave that "He died as a Martyr, like he has ALWAYS wanted".
2- To me the whole Caroline/Stefan pairing has been made just because they were both lonely when Elena chose Damon. At the end of season 4, the plan was for her to live her life with Klaus, not go and marry Stefan. (Klaus: "He's your 1st love, I'm your forever")
Plus this ending kinda made it look like as if Kathetine got what she wanted in the end (Stefan 'choosing ' her).
3- Bonnie is a freaking witch. She saved the town but couldn't save Stefan...?
Also, neither the other side or hell still exist so why all those dead people kept coming back at the end.
And yeah. Jeremy... Not cool! We haven't seen him in a ages and nothing. No reunion, nothing on his life.. Not cool.
4- The past 3 episodes didn't make any sense tbh and we're a bit disrespectful. I mean come on, we've watched 8 seasons of this show!!!!

good series finale although it seemed to go very fast. it was amazing seeing everyone again. fair warning keep your tissues ready!
The Salvatore brothers owned this show. Their relationship was the absolute best. Goodbye Stefan, Goodbye Damon. Epic.
Despite everything I like the series finale. It gives us a lot of emotions and makes us believe that even after death our beloved people are watching our lives. That we still can have a strength to live despite of big losses. And that we will meet all our family in the end of our lives on the other side.
I actually expected more. Unfortunately, Stefan was once again the one to be sacrified.. never the one with the happy ending. It was unnecessary... and it all felt rushed.
But overall, gives some closure for bringing back Elena.
This was an amazing and yet heartbreaking series finale. Loved it all, cried like a baby and said my goodbyes to this amazing tv show, that was responsible for my addiction in tv shows. Loved even through the bad times, and i will miss it so, so much. Now, all we have to do is wait for The Originals to return. TVD will live with me forever.

I'm sad the show ended! Always loved it and enjoyed it. I think this show is not really about the vampire diaries but about how badass Bonnie Bennet is and how good of a friend she is. I knew her ancestors would come to help her, that was epic! Goodbye TVD and thank you for the last 8 years <3
The ending with Damon and Stefan was just amazing. But Delena?? I dont know the chemistry wasnt good they didnt have any dialogue , and Nina's wig was just hilarious lol .
I found it good and it gave closure and hope that no one was ever actually lost because you will see them again when your time comes on the other side. It was an okay finale for a show that used to be good but the last 2-3 seasons where just awfull. Now i will be checking the originals to see what this is about.
Horrible ending!! I seriously didn't undertand the ending How the hell did stefan and elena's parents came back to life It really annoyed me that they showed katherine as this evil bitch because in the end of season 5 she really was good, and she was my favorite character. This episode basically makes no sense, people coming back to life without any explenation.
I hated this finale. The only show with a worse finale is one of Julie Plec other shows The Originals. This was a show about vampires. Why would I want to see the main vampires killed or cured. I certainly wasn't watching this show thinking, "I wish they would turn human."
It makes me glad Kyle XY got canceled unexpectedly before Plec had a chance to ruin it with a terrible ending.
Anyone understand the final hug from the brothers? And the Elena family?
So sad for Stefan but I think it was predictable..
Some will live as humans other as vampires but they will live without forget who they lost.
Sometimes I hated this serie because it was to repetitive but I will miss it.
I'm happy to have seen Vampire Diairies.

literally the best ending the show could have!! I just wish stefan was still alive, and to be honest, I thought demon and elena would talk or something, but I love to see them together anyways!! the way that I cried when I saw their families alive again GOD, I loved it, its was just PERFECT

i watched this episode today becuz i couldn't before. i knew what was coming and i had to struggle to stop me from exploding! this episode really IS everything. won't say anything else, just watch!
